It seems I watch a tutorial and maybe pick up a thing or two, playing Castile, usually go incredibly into debt, get attacked and then not sure what to do. The basic functions I know how to do. It’s things like should I go into debt to get the best councilors, combing regiments into an army, the nobility and making peace. Most tutorials talk too fast, they show things way to fast without zooming in or like yours is too blurred to often read. It’s nice that yours is easy to skim through and maybe I will pick up something that will help or I can build upon.

This game can be really tough. I also struggle to not get into debt with Castille. It is a deceptively difficult nation in my opinion (even though it is listed among the "recommended nations"). I personally prefer Aragon over Castille when it comes to playing in Spain. Good luck! :)

Thanks for using the generally accepted English spelling of Castile. One of my pet peeves of Paradox's EU and CK games is that they spell Castile with two Ls. And don't get me started on Victoria giving the names of German provinces in German when so many other countries have their provinces in the English equivalent.

@@ECloudDog It means that you need at least 60% of your total available units to made into an army/amies. Thanks for the tutorial, really2x enlightening for beginners. However, I am still confused what's the first move I should take. I played as Portugal and the first move I made was sending diplomats to increase relations with Castile and England and put Morocco as the only rival. Then morocco pirates sacked my trade route and I lost several ducats which I considered a great loss since my ducats decreased significantly. I decided to abandon the game and considered to play as Venice but I am still afraid for the first move.
@GameStach
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks you for your comment and sharing your story! Yes, the first moves to make as nation can be quite difficult. Sometimes (this is my experience) you just have to try out a couple of things and restart a bunch of times. I think you chose the right strategy for your Portugal game. Morocco can be quite annoying at the beginning, but I think the best thing to do, is to act quickly. Some suggestions: Quickly ally Castille or Aragon. Get a claim and hope Morocco does not have good allies yet. Cripple them early on, and you should have an easy time expanding in Africa. (I have to add that I personally don't really like playing as Portugal btw - but that is just a personal opinion). As for Venice: I think that's one of the only nations I haven't played extensively, so I can't give you any specific tips. But in general: Get strong allies (so no one attacks you), and attack your enemies when they're weak. Maybe try and conquer Albania and parts of Greece before the Ottomans do? Anyway, good luck and have fun! :D

thats why i only watch tutorials on paradox games to see how the game is before i get it or for a small thing i want to know
@SquareNoggin

Half of playing a paradox game is learning how it works. CKIII is my game of choice, and despite playing hundreds of hours I still discover new little mechanics and stuff about the game every now and then. This tutorial is great because you want to prod the player to the point where they can figure out the game while playing it. Certainly that's how CKIII has been for me - the most fun is had when you're experimenting.

This is hands down the best beginners guide for any game on KZitem. I was so overwhelmed when I first opened the game. After watching this... I have put 50 hours into this game in the first week playing. RIP me.

Amazing tutorial! Just one more thing, when and where should i invest in development? Should i wait till iam ahead of tech and at peace? Should i invest primarly in my capital or everywhere?
@GameStach
4 жыл бұрын
That is a good question! I don't have a definitive answer to that, unfortunately. However, I'll tell you what I usually do: Investing in development is primarily used to increased the stats of your provinces. It will gain you most to: - Increase Admin Dev. in your capital (however, that is expensive) - Increase Diplo Dev. in provinces with high value trade goods (this depends on the period your in, but Gold is always highly profitable) Secondly, you can use development to help the spread of institution. For example, let's say you are very unlucky and "Global Trade" spawns in China and you're somewhere in Europe. It is not smart to wait until it all spreads to Europe. Instead, you can increase development, which will help the growth of that institution. (Just try this out in a game and you'll get what I mean). My rule of thumb of when to invest is generally: - I need the institution (as explained above), or; - I have an excess of power points and I have nowhere else to spend them on. Hope this helps :)

@GameStach thx for tutorial. Do you know, if I started the basic game without dlcs and afterwards I would buy a dlc, will I able to continoue my save game with dlc ? Which dlc gives me the right and chance to give some occupied region to my ally at peace? Cosscks maybe? Thx in advance
@GameStach
3 жыл бұрын
@@roninodikai If you start the game without dlc, and then buy ones, you can no longer play that save game sadly :( I have had this lots of times. I believe that transfering occupation is not part of a DLC anymore. You have to click the province, and that is where you can transfer occupation. If you want to give the province to you ally in the peace deal, simply select it there. It should now show up in the summary of the deal :)
