Brilliant info, thank you so much. Our Dotti is 10 weeks old, not our first dog at all. She's gorgeous. 😊

Hi Lenny, I live in the UK with my pup and I want to get my dachshund puppy insured. Could you let me know if you insured your dogs and if so which insurance company did you use? Love you videos, your tips have been super helpful. Thank you🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hi, nice to see you back. Happy New Year. I have five dachshunds and a Spanish Griffon so I totally know how hard it is to stop them jumping…have a ramp too which is a bit hit and miss. I have one who had grade 5 IVDD in June 2021. After surgery he’s doing ok, Much better than we thought he would. Enjoyed the video

❤ @lenny I really enjoy your videos and your babies look so happy and healthy! I've got a female mini dachshund she's almost a year and absolutely gorgeous. She does have issues with her glands and we have to make regular trips to the vets (almost every 4 weeks). I currently feed her kibble with a little additional fibre added but have been told a raw food diet might help with the gland issue. She's happy with the kibble but want to help her, have you any experience with this - or do you have any advice? Thanks

I love your videos!! Super educational and I watched almost every video before choosing to get my little dachshund. I am currently living in a house that has plenty of stairs and wanted to know your opinions on stairs and little pups backs? It is a double story and super hard to not let him go up and down when we are not home.. when we are he waits at the stairs for us to carry him up and down. Thankyou in advance x

Personally all mine use the stairs who choose to 🙈 and no signs of IVDD here. But they’re kept very fit on top of that! :)

Hi Lenny. Love your videos and guidance for dachshunds. We have a short haired miniature and have been applying a spot on flea treatment. The vet said to spread the treatment over the back of the neck. In the past we would just expose a bit of skin and drop the liquid. What do you do with yours?

Hi Lenny. So glad I found your channel. My mini dachshund loves to burrow under his blankets. Hes 3 years old but has started losing hair under his arms and the skin gets v dry and red. I have been advised by lots of dog owners to use sudo cream ( which does help) but the hair never grows back. He has had a thyroid check at vets. All normal and he is wormed and flead etc. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I would look at his food first as usually hairloss in those areas is a sign of food allergens x

Silly question but what age do dachshunds tend to settle down our 1 year old seems to always be running around wanting to play all day everyday even after long walks and long time playing
@lennysixdachshunds1069

He could be overtired try reducing play and walks and exchanging it with mind games, settle work and training

Hi Lenny! Hope everything is well, glad to see you back. I didn't wake up early so I missed the live. I have a question. I am currently planning on the pickup of my pup but if its by airplane I would have to wait till 4 months because of vaccination, etc. Driving there makes it easy for me to pick her up earlier than 4 months. Any recommendations on an 11 hour drive back home? Is it going to impact her view of the car, do I have to reset, or can I train her let's say 30 min before departure? I also got her those snuggle lamb toys that are warm and mimic the litter's heartbeat to reduce stress and anxiety.

Hey! I think an 11 hour drive should be absolutely fine :) they will settle into it. I would stop every few hours. Pop a puppy pad under their bed incase they go in their bed (not in their bed, under it and clean the bed once home) But honestly it’ll fly by time wise and is probably a much less stressful way to go about it. If you can have someone come with you and have pup on their lap even better, pup won’t even notice the ride if they’re being cuddled x

@@lennysixdachshunds1069 Thank you! And yes there’s 4 of us going on that trip because driving alone 11 hours to another country is kinda scary so I will be in the backseat cuddling her. I also bought her a booster seat with a buckle and harness (only for car use because its safer in case of an accident, you can never be too careful) I hope everything will go smoothly, fingers crossed.

My smooth dachshund is 17 weeks old and I cannot calm him down enough to cuddle even after playing hard for a couple hours, or less....doesn't matter how little or more. The only way to calm him is to put him in the crate. I'd love for him to sleep with me but he will never stop jumping around and playing. There is no snuggling at all, only play. Any thoughts?

Thank you for your videos, they have helped a lot with my 4.5 month old dachshund. Just wondering if there is anything you would recommend for car sickness in dogs? My puppy seems to vomit on every journey long or short 🤦♀️

Can you recommend a good booties for a miniature Dachshund? In Canada the cold and slush can be very uncomfortable. Have tried many types but the size of her paws and shortness of the legs makes fitting very difficult. thx :)
