I remember buying in clock buttons by the bag load from... AZ Electrics or Grandata, forget which, back in the day. And rewind repair kits. I was lucky that I never had a power supply blow up. Did you know that some versions of the C7 user manual have a joke in them? Really! It said that the machine should always be operated horizontally, and showed someone lying down in a bed with the remote control, operating the machine horizontally of course. How very un-Japanese to have a joke in a user manual. Oddly though, the only other user manual I've ever seen with a joke was also from Sony, and I have a copy of that one if anyone is interested.

I'm going to have to dig out the user manual and take a look! Love it! These days even the new old stock buttons fail and I now use modern 'tact' switches which work great although you lose the 'feel' as they give a much more positive click.

That’s the exact same Betamax VCR we had at school on the trolly that was wheeled in when the teacher was off sick! 😀 I recognise the buttons.

Well remembered! Our school had a Toshiba V31 (mainly because we only really had a Toshiba dealer locally) and many years later I was given it by the school, saving it from the tip.

When ours did that, dad just punched the top of the lid with his firsts. It fixed it for a while.

Yo tengo varios modelos de Sony betamax, todos operativos,y una gran colección de películas originales de la época,y cintas precintadas aún para poder grabar, definitivamente es un sistema fantástico.
