Great video - Good to know how to install these axles in the hubs. Would like to see a video on how to adjust the disk brakes if they rub the brake pads after re-installing the wheels? Thanks!

It does matter which side the cam is on. In fact, trek got sued over this. It wasn’t the skewer even though they recalled millions of bikes because of the skewer. It was actually the cam on wrong side. It could slightly pop out or come lose and hit or get caught in the rotor, caliper, or whatever. People didn’t want to send their bikes back though. It was to much trouble and they would be without a bike for many weeks. Because of that many ended up taking their bikes to the bike shop. But all the bike mechanics did was take the skewer out and flip it around.

The TREK defective skewer recall was because the skewers opened more than 180 degrees. This was a bad skewer (defective) design. Here is a link to that: www.warshafsky.com/PIFirmWisconsin/TrekRecall

@@SCOOTERETTI yes, but many bike mechanics fixed it by flipping around the skewer not replacing it.

Our video is targeted towards general information and cannot account for bikes equipped with defective equipment.

@@kalijasin I think most skewers from i.e Shimano or other reputable brands don't open past 180 degrees. Please correct me if I'm wrong though. Honestly, I wish they'd just scrap QR and move on to TA on all bikes. Doesn't require more than a small additional tool (hex or proprietary) to take wheel off. Plus makes it less prone to being stolen as well.
