I recently aquired a 70 gallon half hex aquarium. They had it full of water with fish in it. But I noticed that the corner of the frame is separated. How would be a good way to bond it together? I'm worried about having it blow out on me. I'll probably reseal it also.

Cyanoacrylate super glue made by Gorilla glue will be more than strong enough. Just apply to the cracked area and dust it with baking soda.

One more thing! Don't et any e superglue on the glass. It could cause a failure in the glass.

@@orionseal117 what does the baking soda do?

Baking soda will make the bond extra strong as well as speed up the cure process on the cyanoacrylate super glue.

Hey Charlie I have a 125 gallon fish tank it has a very slow leak underneath the bottom and I was wondering can I just reseal we’re the leak is or do I have to do the whole bottom of tank

I get this question all the time. The short answer is no, you can't just reseal the area in question. The tank may hold water for a short time after a partial reseal, but it WILL eventually fail. The only safe way is to do a total strip off of the old seal and reseal the entire aquarium. You do not have to disassemble the tank, just strip the old seal from the inside of the tank (use plenty of brand new razorblades) then apply a new seal in one piece. I use "GE Silicone-1" exclusively for tanks up to 500 gallons.

@@dustinsluder9216, no it is not enough to do a 125. I use four, 10.1oz tubes to reseal 125 and 150 gallon tanks.

I'm in the process of resealing my 125 i got for a great deal. My first time doing it. So far so good. I agree fresh blades make a world of difference. Do you reccomend taping for cleaner silicone lines? Also do you silicone the top of the tank where the frame is? Or just silicone up to the top?

I Euro braced this tank, but I don't remove the trim on any tank to reseal it. I just go to the trim.

Acetone can compromise the silicone between the panes. Id rather use sand paper personally.

I don't like the acetone because it leaves a film. I use rubbing alcohol instead. Feels cleaner after evaporation.

Sand paper will scratch the hell out of your aquarium how can this be better. I think use it but clean it with alcohol afterwards.

@@britadamski6029just think about it. If acetone is good at removing silicone residue then there is a good chance that it can compromise the inner seal lol
