Quill reduced the salary increase to almost zero, the next day both employers are sick. If that wasn't coincidence then the level of detail in this game is crazy.

If your employees are fully satisfied in their needs, they'll do that "awkward typing" animation lol As their satisfaction and effectiveness go down, their typing animation will change accordingly. That's these little details that i love so much about this amazing game

Quill if you put in a server and use it for source control it reduces bugs

If you make only programing primary in the role for Quill, and everything else secondary, he will ignore the simple stuff only your designer can work on, or vice versa

Been playing this game for years and waiting for you to do a video. It's addicting since it is very in-depth and with many different routes to take for the business. Each new milestone feels like a real step. Wouldn't be surprised if this ended up on Paradox's list to acquire like Prison Architect

Wouldn't Sloth OS4 be better since it's the newer Sloth OS, has same stats, and will have a growing user base, whereas Sloth OS3 will have a stagnant or declining user base?

He spend a solid 2 seconds looking at the screen and only looked at "active users", of course he was going to miss that a newer version of an OS was out

Putting specific people on specific projects is the point of making separate teams, right? Although I don't remember if there was a downside to making lots of tiny high-resolution teams.
@shahilzr
9 ай бұрын
A couple downsides. More teams to manage which just leads to some heavy micromanaging mid to late game. Each team will also need a separate room otherwise it reduces their effectiveness which is the only drawback at this stage(where there’s only access to two rooms). You’ll also eventually add in HR and leads(who usually don’t do a great deal of development/design) which could lead to more overhead costs.

@@shahilzr Oh, right, I meant downsides at this early stage. The point was that he *wanted* to micromanage them here. :) I'd forgotten that they lost efficiency if not in separate rooms, though. Thanks! It's been awhile, but IIRC my paint-the-map strategy was when I got the second level of contracting (requiring the receptionist, etc) I realized I could hire a small team of just designers and fund the company on just contract designs. That let me have the time to make an upgraded but cheap early-90s OS with my engineers and basically "win" super early. This game is old like me, though. :) I did it a long time ago, I have to assume they've patched it once or twice since then.

@@mighatesmakingusers Very early on you just made an audio tool and make it available everywhere. Really cheap to make and you got like a billion first day. He patched this though. I haven't played since the integration of secruity so a long time haha.

There was a checkbox for in-house above the scm options for your project. What did that do was it related? How do we tell the server is doing anything?
@shahilzr
9 ай бұрын
In house means that it won’t be sold anywhere but can be used as an internal tool. Think of like, unreal engine where anyone can develop using it compared to say, NBA 2K’s game engine which only they have access to. I almost never use it but it can be good for cutting edge tech that you don’t want your competitors to have access to. So if you have a 1985 tech level update on a 2D in-house editor, your competitors wouldn’t be able to update their games to the newest 2D levels using your editor which would likely boost your video game sales.

I've found that software printing is a pretty good cash side-cow. You can get some decent low volume jobs to provide a trickle of income while you're deep in the dev cycle.

In the contract details, there's a minimum progress percentage. I think you've been completely ignoring that? The jobs you have been grabbing up until early this episode have been floating around 50-60%, which is about the threshold you've been YOLO-ing.
