Get the Mimiq Doubler, play out in stereo and one signal go into amp and the other into the Quintessence... make Mimiq really loose and you'll be able to get a harmony that sounds like a second guitarist is playing with you but has the slight difference in timing! ... It's GENIUS! Please try this as I haven't got either pedal yet! Mike

Please please, could you demo it with chords and arpeggios where you let the chord notes ring together ? That's what I'm interested in it for, the glitchy texture. I would like to hear how it glitches and if it sounds nice (as the Whammy in classic mode glitches really nicely on chords). I've been looking for demos doing that but I didn't find any trying polyphony. I'd like to hear just how weird it gets. Is it just a change in texture? I don't know how it tracks and how the algorithm generates the added pitches when playing chords. Does it still stay in the scale (for every note of the chord)? Thanks a lot for the info. Keep up the great work.

On your next harmonizer pedal, make it a pedal with 4 buttons ( 3 presets, 1 on/off), custom scales that we get to pick all twelve notes the harmony to, and more tone print slots. Sometime you have a solo that one of your scales will not work and you can pick all twelve notes and it will. There are also some cases that solos such as Mademoiselle by Styx, two scale has to be made to make it work. You will have to use another preset to make that happen. The trouble with companies is they have electronic nerds, and sales people and have no common sense of what musicians need. This is not a cut, because I don't have any common sense about what you do. You need to communicate with working musicians to give them what they need to do their job. Always keep up with what the competition is doing that works well. I would love to work for TC. I could help you improve most of your pedals. I spend hours a day looking at what all companies are doing and the latest gear out. I am an admitted gear whore. That is what all companies are missing is the opinions of the guys that do this everyday.

How else would the pedal know which note to harmonize? I’m guessing you don’t know the basics of harmony but there is no way to do other that to set the key of the pedal. Unless you go with a fixed interval, which sucks for anything other than octaves
@McConnellsGuitar
Жыл бұрын
@@jul3249 I guess they could build it so that you play the tonic chord at the beginning and stomp to 'lock it in' and it does everything relative to the major key of that chord until you change it. I don't know how hard that'd be to do but it'd be cool.
@jul3249
Жыл бұрын
@@McConnellsGuitar that would be very very limited in fact. First off, you don't start all songs on the tonic chords. Second of all, sometimes you don't play chords at all. Third, some songs are in different modes. fourth, it would he painstakingly hard to be certain the pedal actually recorded your input chord as intended, and you would probably end up finding out a mistake had been made in the middle of the first riff, while the song has already started. Better dial it yourself bro.
@McConnellsGuitar
Жыл бұрын
@@jul3249 Not at all. 1) You just put the pedal before your tuner. Mute the signal and play the chord once before the song starts. Or even build a mute feature into the pedal. The audience doesn't hear it and you've set your key. Alternatively you can stomp whenever the chord does come up in the middle of the song. 2) See 1) 3) If the song is in G Mixolydian play a C major at the start of the song. 4) It could light up with the key it thinks you want, like this pedal does when you move the selector, allowing you to visually confirm the key is what you wanted. The manual switch can still be there if there's any error with autodetect. Bearing in mind Gibson made a self tuning guitar that could pick up on all 6 strings at once I don't think this is beyond the realms of possibility. None of this is any less tricky to do on stage than, for instance, operating a loop pedal which requires a ton of precision and can go far more disastrously wrong.

@xeractus
5 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, you made the most obvious fundamental mistake with this, such that it is laughable. Why the HELL are you putting a harmony pedal BEFORE distortion? It's never ever going to sound anything like multiple guitars playing in harmony that way. you have to have it AFTER anything that is adding overdrive or distortion, and play it into a clean channel. if you have any shared overtones between the voices, you're going to sound like two guitars playing through the same amp, i.e. not realistic at all. Digitech knew this when they made the Harmonyman back in 2009- they put in a "distortion" send/return loop and a "clean input" to make it easy to route the signal(s) properly. You could have at least put it in the amp's effect loop, surely.. Your manual doesn't even mention this. Why you would make a demo of it that makes it sound worse that it probably does, I cannot fathom. Of course, if you want to sound tinny and artifical, then it's fine...
