I stopped sugar a year ago. Also fast from evening to noon meal. Main meal at noon, sandwich in evening. Salad with each meal. Have lost 30 pounds. Do only occasionally want something sweet. Fruit, like an apple, replacing that. Anyone can do it.

The apple is literally the best replacement for me. When the sweet tooth comes around, the apple (more like 2 apples) curbs it and keeps me full for a good amount of time. After doing that for a while I barely have cravings for sweets.

As someone who lovesssss sugar, this was not helpful for me. I was dedicated to not eating sugar for a week and gave up within two days, and ate a whole lot of it and gave up bc it was too hard. Now, im more realistic and instead of restricting myself I focus all on balance. I do eat lots of veggies, fruits, and proteins, however I do not call it a diet, but a healthy lifestyle. This is bc I still eat desserts, I still get food out, and don’t restrict myself. I don’t watch every little thing I eat and beat myself up over eating a cookie, but instead focus on how often im eating fast food or sugar and watching portions. To those who are reading this, this is what helped me stay motivated and I have now been going strong for two months and feel so much happier. Don’t restrict yourself, and just maintain a healthy balance bc now it’s so much easier to stay consistent! :)

yes it can be super difficult to not beat yourself up over eating dessert or fast food, trust me. I used to feel guilt even from eating half a cookie and wanted to give up, feeling like I had to restart. But now, i live freely and eat all my favorite foods in portions along with still getting proper nutrition for my body. Instead of focusing on weight loss, I focused on strengthening my body and mind, and I grew as a person to love myself instead of pointing out all of my insecurities. You are so strong and capable of so much more than you think you are, don’t give up, because loving yourself is one of the best things ever!

Also he did have sucrose since he had fruit but I do understand your point. Also sucrose still isn't bad in moderation since it metabolizes into glucose and fructose anyways.

I am 32 years old woman mother of two kids. Before marriage when i used to only take care of myself. I never had sweet cravings never exhausted. But once i had kids. I often get exhausted, if i get exhausted my brain needs sweet and snacks. If not i cannot regain my strength. My husband before leaves for work make sure sweets snacks are all at home. We dont usually prefer it. But now a days with kids and babies i feel like i have no choice.

when I was about 9, my parents forced me and my 4 brothers on a no sugar diet, besides the regular fruits like blueberry and strawberries (we weren’t allowed any other fruit). I started to feel really sick after a week and they didn’t believe me, ended up vomiting in the living room during a movie. Safe to say, they never put me on a diet again 👍🫡

That is why fad diets like keto are generally no good, altho low carb is ok if recommended by a professional or if u are only lowering them a little bit He may be referring to added sugars but even then getting rid of that is not the answer to all ur problems, there are other harmful macros like trans fats that he also fails to mention. All in all just silly and some of the results he's getting may not even have anything to do with less sugars. Is he referring to sucrose? Added sugars? Does he even know the difference between different types of carbohydrates or does he think the implication and small hints will do the trick? I also sense false cause fallacy. Things like mood improvement can be caused by a variety of factors, not just less sugar. It's impossible to know if it was really the sugar that did most of this stuff or if it's purely circumstantial and he's hyperfocusing on the positive things occuring And you calling me slow is an ad hominem. For a lot of people when leaving sugar it might mean headaches, dizziness, nausea, etc. If your diabetic I would understand that you do need the sugar. But the sugar humans can live off, is the sugar that is produced by fruit. (I’m pretty sure). As someone that has been trying to not eat candy, sugar my body doesn’t need, etc. I totally feel a lot better, more energetic, healthier, etc. Although you shouldn’t push ur body SUPER hard because every body is different! I haven’t eaten sugar in 10 years( do occasionally eat fruit nowadays) but from personal experience, the hating life part from day one never goes away lol Also do your research, most people mean processed sugar, it’s best to learn about the natural sugar that’s actually still healthy for you. I think that this is a great thing! He isn’t getting rid of sugar fully, he’s eating fruit, because sugars are necessary for your body, but he’s just getting rid of the processed, unnecessary, and very unhealthy sugar. But, most of all he’s happy!

I didn't eat added sugar for a month and was depressed the whole time. All I thought about was food, I made up for the lack of sweet things by eating loads of fatty, salty things and I actually gained weight. Whilst this can be good for some people, it is not for everyone. What I found personally for my own health is that eating a little bit of sugar sometimes is far better than not having any. ❤

You must have compensated witg carbs, eat only meat, you can eat as much of it as you want and you will lose weight, the reason you gained weight was probably due to the salt, retaining water, not gaining fat

You only lack discipline. When cutting sugar intake, cut fatty and salty ones too. Cutting one unhealthy food and eating more another unhealthy food is plain stoopid. You just don’t know what you’re doing but cutting sugar while supplementing more carbs and proteins should be the way, not fatty salty foods lol

I haven’t had sugar for almost 4 months. I don’t miss it. Everything but the energy is true. I workout 4x a week and I don’t have any energy . I feel exhausted and it’s hard for me to get out of bed in the morning.

As i experienced it for multiple times, it was a great diet. The only problem that you will notice is that everything you eat in your daily basis is made out of sugar. That's why everybody can't start it. But i recommend you to try it for once. You'll like it for sure.

I did the whole no eating added sugar thing for an entire year in 2023 and it had some really awesome benefits when it came to more energy and weight loss, but in fourteen days none of those effects will be noticed. It took me about a month to feel noticeably better, and the second month the sugar cravings were insane. It was only around the third month in that i really started to feel noticeably better

I’m currently on the last day (30th day) of my no candy diet, and I lost a little bit of the urge to eat candy. Trying this diet was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and over the past 30 days I lost around 4kg of weight and I feel the best I ever was. I hope this comment will make you try this too! Edit: Just to answer some of your replies, to lose that much weight you also need to exercise at least 2+ times a week, and during that time I started just eating less and I didn’t eat fast food. After combining all of the mentioned stuff I lost 4-5kg of weight in a month. By the way thanks for 517 likes.

Yall listen to your body! Every body is different so that means everybody needs a different diet! Too much salt can be bad for people but because of a health thing I have I need more salt than others! Just because one diet works for someone doesn’t mean it will work for you! This diet worked for him and that’s great but some people need sugar so they don’t faint! Just find the thing that works for you!

I have been on 0 zero sugar ( white sugar and artificial sweeteners) for about 6 months now, and I can assure you that the benefits are very minute and only observable for about 2-3 weeks, after that life will feel normal as before. I am still on this because I have got no reason to relapse from this detox and it is always something you can brag about with an increasing degree of narcissistic glorification the higher your streak is

I stopped eating sugar for 15 years now. Not even sodas or cookies. I do eat fruits to compensate I drink my tea with inulin fiber. For baking we use allulose instead of sugar but again I rarely eat baked stuff....maybe once a month. I eat dark chocolate, homemade with monk fruit or allulose.

For everyone explaination: sugar is pure Glucose AKA energy which your body needs, but you don’t have to consume sugar to get Glucose in your system, because your body will do that for you with every food you eat and it won’t matter if there is sugar in or not. I did this during corona no issues or craving for 2 weeks but after 14 days I raided the snack cupboard coz the craving suddenly hit I then managed 4 months or so but once I got back to work and started working 18 hour days and eating after work at 4 am at wherever was open at that time it went down the drain
