Credit spreads is my main job now i had saved up enough from trading and working so I am able to do it full time I tend to make 500 a day 2500 a week as my main goal with just 10k on 0dte which is ruffle 130k per year with only 500 bucks a day yes I do have expenses with my daughter and gf so it’s a little less after the end of the month I withdraw 4000 dollars to pay my self and restart again while still being over my 10k to trade with its very possible I normally put up about 8k to be able to make the 500 and exit depending if there is no big news then I let it expire worthless hope this helps

wow, good for you, I hope you can keep that up, that would be the dream. Are you just picking direction based on trend and selling .1 deltas, or are you actively day trading?
@Tradelikeace

@@chimchu3232 it has it's moments there's days I don't take trades depending on the tend and fomc and cpi but depending when I enter a trade I just have my goal limit set if I'm half way like 50% of the $500 from the credit spread trade I will close early to prevent loss but if nothing really is going on ill let it expire for max profit

Great video! Could you expand and explain more on risk managment and how to handle losing trades? I've been trading for almost two years, and while my winrate is high, whenever I take a loss it ereases previous wins.

@@enki5420 Thanks for your tip. The issue I had in mind is that because the loss is greater than the profit, if I'll put a X3 stop loss than the profit (for excample) then it might be triggered even if the stock did not got down so much. Could this happen, or it is just a worry in my mind?

I may have missed it but are then any scenarios you don't turn your initial credit spread into an iron condor? You are using 30-45 DTE spreads it looks like and sometimes it goes against you early and sometimes late. When you set your stop loss, like when you go to work, do you revisit that and if so how often throughout the month. Thanks.

if the market/stock has huge momentum in the same direction as my initial credit spread, i usually don't open up the other side, mainly because then I'm adding more risk to an already won trade. What if the market continues to go in the same direction and I end up losing on the new leg... then I actually end up making less money... It's a bit counterintuitive but it's unnecessary additional risk. I look at it almost daily just in case. It's super quick just to make sure that I don't need to adjust my stop loss (i set a GTC order). But because you're selling 30-45 days, you can get away with not looking at it daily since the pricing won't move as much. I've gotten away with looking at it less and sometimes even once or twice a week.

Great video - what are your thoughts of this type of strategy/timeframe vs a 0 DTE strategy? Is the 30 dte better mainly because of less trades during the month?
@CreditSpreadInvesting
11 ай бұрын
great question! i wouldn't say that one is better than the other... it really depends on your situation. Not everyone can trade 0DTEs because of life or other reasons. 30 DTEs and longer strategies are nice and more accessible because it's a longer term trade so you dont have to react as fast as 0DTES. Give us more room for error, and time to react. Also the price fluctuations aren't as crazy as 0DTEs due to theta and other greeks still impacting the option pricing. Hope that answers the question

Will you plz make a video about the technical analysis you do? How you time your entries and exit and what indicators are you looking at? Especially for 0dte.

thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely open to doing one. Can you help provide me with some more info so that I can make the best video for you? After watching this video and maybe some of my other 0DTE, is there a question in particular that you want me to help answer/showcase? I use the same 3 step analysis (Market Trend, Area of Value, and Criteria of Entries) for all my trades.

@@CreditSpreadInvesting Maybe a bit more detail on what you're personally looking for when entering a credit spread, the type of volume, key levels, vix ranges, etc. How you identify top and bottoms, and what pushes to finally take a trade. Also would be kind enough to explain the fundamentals of rolling. Everyone talks about rolling, but for me it's so hard to actually understand what it really entails. Thank you so much!

Thanks for a great video. So did you open CCS first then PCS when you saw a bounce from support? Or just create an iron codor order from the beginning?

Hey! Opened up the CCS first and then was looking to see if there was a bounce off support to open up the PCS. I don’t like creating iron condors right off the bat

Ever thought (or experimented) of converting the spread to a butterfly when short leg is challenged?
@CreditSpreadInvesting
4 ай бұрын
I’ve never experimented with that. I tend to close the spread once it hits a stop loss, since I trade price action and market structure. Theoretically it makes sense … but I’ve never gone and done it. I’d be curious to hear if you have and how you go about doing it?

hey, I want to check out how you place the stop loss order for the sell call spread, what trade platform are you using?

its the same as how you would set a stop loss for the put call spread. This accounts on fidelity. I set an alert for that specific price point, and when the price point is reached, i manually execute it.

one question. you open the sell call spread on 2,Aug expire 8/31, then the stock downtrend and you place the sell put spread on 21,Aug and still exipre at 8/31? so the sell put spread order only have 10 days to expired.

Usually yes if it’s for different expiry but if it’s for the same expiry (iron condor) then no because the market can’t be above your calls and below your puts at the same time
