Wallah it's like you were literally talking towards me about the "being successful" part. I was married and unfortunately things ended terribly. I was alone and had nothing for myself. No individual goals, no source of income for myself, no drive. I had nothing to call my own. Allhamduallah it's been almost 4 years since my divorce, and im graduating college this semester with 2 degrees allhamduallah. I have goals i want to achieve now, plans for myself. Just the feeling of making it on ur own is truly an amazing feeling and can nobody tell my ass what I can and cant do now! Lol

Totally agree with you about wanting to be straight forward when it comes to marriage. I also had it in my head that I wanted to fall in love first, but after experiencing a bit of that, I honestly don't think it leads to anything substantial. A waste of time and a headache is what it is tbh.

Love your maturity Habiba. You covered some great points. Gotta love how so many females are so obsessed with this marriage thing. Thanks for sharing your life with us. It’s hard, especially on a platform that makes you so vulnerable and open to judgement. But it is much appreciated and hearing someone echo your own thoughts about life, men and friendships to name a few is comforting. 😊 Lots of love. May Allah protect you and grant you a place in paradise.

that whole part about marriage is so relatable. honestly why get into an uncertain and open kind of "relationship" where nothing is clear, you live in the moment but the future isn't predictable. So many things can go so so wrong especially for girls like us I think. inshaallah you'll meet the perfect match when the time is right. much love

It's so frustrating when people pressure women to get married at such a young age, we get criticised for not forcing ourselves to a life long commitment as if it's easy. A lot of relatives and friends always question us women about when we will get married but don't consider that we have other things we're more focused on like our career or education. Yes marriage is an important part of Islam, however it's so disappointing at how people will shame women for not getting married early and having kids. Getting married late is also more pressuring to women because they're supposed to have children before 30... I don't understand why us women have to be burdened by so many things in life. We struggle so much as it is. I have a relative who married at 29, and up until she got married she would be questioned about it constantly, this type of attitude towards women needs to stop because it's not them being concerned it's them criticising us for not sacrificing our lives to create a family.

Nerderer if your parents pressure you to do things that make you have suicidal thoughts, then you have the full right to talk to the authorities. If you're in Uni, you probably have a local social worker, try to get as many informations in order to convince your parents. Remember, this is your life and not theirs.
@jewelrybussiness

Nerderer don't even ever think of taking you life bec no matter how sucks your life is , death is the worse thing can happen to anyone , i had the same problem as you my parent worried that i will lose my mind when i started my first uni year and go and f** some guy and end up losing my virginity which is big sin , but when i prove to them that i have no interest in guys and i only want to success my university life they just stopped but it took time , they just feel they will lose you to this crazy world ,so don't hate them so much ok , and you are so precious so don't about taking your life again
@rockstar2012xx

Nerderer I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. It's not easy to accept what your parents intend for you. I would suggest consulting with someone about this because it is very serious. You're very young and you have a long life to live so there really isn't any rush for you to be getting married at such an early age. I really hope your parents don't go to the lengths of kicking you out... Are they aware that you have been feeling this way? I think they may not see things from your perspective and have a mind of their own, if they are open to seeing things from your side they may stop pressuring you and allow you to act independently. Everyone is different so I'm not sure if what I've suggested would be of help because I know a lot of people who can't speak to their parents about these things and just become obedient. You have your own life to live, they shouldn't dictate your life but guide your path to a happy future. I hope things get better for you, I would also recommend seeing a professional regarding the depression because it won't go away unless it is dealt with at first hand.
@shaolinfinest8660

Your parents advising you to marry young is in fact for your benefit (both guys and girls). They might approach it the wrong way, but that does not negate the deed. As someone whose been through the entire process, give me a few moments to qualify that statement. Education/career is something drilled into you from the day you are born. It's purported to be something grand, but when you've been grinding for 10 years, you begin to realise that it's all in vain; you have to deal with stress, pressure, back biting, company politics etc. The higher up the ladder you go, the more hours you have to work; you lose your social life. Imagine having to stay up till 3am working on a contract because the client needs it the next day, otherwise you lose a £1 million partnership and you're going to get a bollocking ? At one point I was working 75 hours a week; that is 11 hours a day, 7 days a week. I'm on the other end of the tunnel, and I've seen it first hand - it's not fun, it sucks the life out of you, and you begin developing serious health issues due to the stresses. A lot of women in their teens/20s want to work, but by the time they reach their 30s, they become panicked out about it because they see it for what it is, and don't want that life. The more meaningful things in life (family, children etc) become more dominate, but they can't find a suitable prospect, because well, most of them have already been snapped up. In fact, in the muslim community here in the UK, we have an epidemic of unmarried women in their 30s. I myself know a dozen or so, and this is a REALLY worrying trend. Imagine growing old with no kids, no husband, and no grandchildren. When you're young, it's easy to find someone. You'll have plenty of choice. The longer you leave it, the smaller the pool, and the quality of men will also reduce. The younger you get married, the easier it is to grow together, as a couple. The later you leave it, the more set you become in your ways, and the harder it'll be to integrate someone into your life. That usually translates into more arguments, fights etc. The final thing you need to factor is men prefer women who are younger. The older a woman becomes, the less desirable she is. It's primarily because women tend to age quicker than men, they also have a biological clock after which it becomes difficult to conceive, and they generally have less energy as they age, which isn't exactly desirable if you want 3 kids. Men on the other hand become more desirable with age which is why the pressure on them isn't as intense as it is with women. A young man has little to offer to society; whereas a rich, influential, powerful, and charming older man can lure even a woman in her 20s, and that is not something uncommon. I hope you guys consider these points, they are not mere thoughts, I am seeing them unravel before my very eyes, and as someone on the other end, I feel obliged to enlighten the younger amongst you about the reality of this lifestyle, and that it's not really what it's set out to be.
@AB-no2he

spot on 👌 I agree I've seen that happen aswell I'm 22 going on to 23 and my parents think that I'm an old lady they just want me to get hitched but I'm in the middle on my postgrad course and its intense as it's in medicine it's horrible sometimes the "your an old lady" "nobody will marry you " gets so drilled IN that I hosnestly just feel like going to a mosque grabbing a random guy who isn't married and just get the nikkha over and done with so that my parents would just leave me alone it's frustrating but what your saying about getting married early is also true I guess it comes down to balancing everything and good communication with parents aswell

There is one thing in Islam which every Muslim should understand and accept. Maybe one who doesn't dress in a modest way is stronger in practising in certain ways than the other but Hijab is also a form of worship and Hijab is prescribed in Quran and explained by the scholars. Neglecting this fact makes us also weak and sinners. So you can't say that one is stronger than the other, both of them are weak and astray. We should accept our mistakes because it leads us to improve and get pardoned by Allaah, because He may be exalted knows our weakness and struggle with our Nafs but if it doesn't bother us there's no way to find peace and forgiveness by Allaah.
@a.a.6789

yes exactly!!! we definitely shouldn't judge anyone on anything because it's between them and god,but it shouldn't be an excuse for someone to say it's fine if I don't wear the hijab,because their's this mean hijabi at school,and I'm a better person than her,like no!! That's also judging!!XD barakallahu fiki

What eyelashes are you wearing?
@jiyan2220
6 жыл бұрын
It is haraam for a woman to wear false eyelashes because they come under the heading of hair extensions, for which the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed those who do that. Al-Bukhaari and Muslim (2122) narrated that Asma’ bint Abi Bakr said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: “O Messenger of Allaah, I have a daughter who is newly married, and she had the measles and her hair fell out. Can I give her hair extensions?” He said: “Allaah has cursed the one who fixes hair extensions and the one who has that done.” Moreover some doctors have mentioned that false eyelashes lead to chronic allergies in the skin and eyes, and to infection in the eyelids, and may cause the eyelashes to fall out. So using them is harmful, and the Lawgiver forbids that as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm.” See Zeenat al-Mar’ah bayna al-Tibb wa’l-Shar’. P. 33.

it is permitted to use animal hair (other than a pig) or synthetic hair according to many classical scholars.. not all false eyelashes are made from hair extensions. Btw did you copy that from a website because it seems very accurate.. obviously with a few things left out.. such as the website from this link: islamqa.info/en/39301

At the end of the day it's the intention that Allah will see, and you can do anything your heart wills with a good purpose.
