"Imagine that...a kid from Oakland believing in fairytales." That shit breaks my heart, because the fairytale he's talking about is the idea that he, and people that look like him, could be happy and prosperous and live in beautiful harmony. It's impossible for him to believe because of the awful, impoverished conditions he and so many other people of color in america were born into. As someone from similar circumstances i get that attitude. Even once you've gotten out and made it, you never really ever believe it, you never really feel like you made it. It always feels like a dream you're on the verge of waking up from because the pain of the hood is such that it never leaves you.

Since N'Jobu was killed, Erik's mother died in prison and Erik was left completely alone.

When she asked if it was an armbar or guillotine and you said it wasn’t a real move, it was technically still 100% a triangle, but from the back. From the back is not as immediately effective as a choke, because the shoulder and arm don’t close the carotid artery, which completes the choke. But if you shift your hips and put the person’s shoulder and arm against their neck, it’s still a triangle choke. You can also just use your own arm, to shove it between the crease, closing off the carotid, and completing the choke. Or you can grab the arm you isolated and sink the choke and a modified armbar at the same time. And that’s just nasty. 😊

Ive been a fan of Chadwick Boseman since he played Famous Baseball Player Jackie Robinson in 42, and Soul Singer Jackson Brown in Get on Up, so when he was cast as Black Panther, I have NEVER been more excited to see someone more deserving take on role than this man. I enjoyed his performance as BP throughout his time in the MCU, and I love the impact he made in this universe. It broke my heart that he left us so soon, and to this day, it still doesn't feel real to me. The fact that he was sick while playing that role and enduring all that pain while keep going is proof that Chadwick is a hero. RIP T'Challa, you will be remembered and honored.

Tony Stark didn't know about Wakanda, Klaue is the only dude that knew the truth. So in the MCU, the vibranium Howard Stark used to make Cap's shield didn't actually come from Wakanda. It was found by a Stark Industries expedition to another part of Africa & as far as he or anyone else was aware, it was all of the vibranium in existence. Then in 1992, Klaue stole a bunch of vibranium from Wakanda (the last of which would later be used to make Vision's body) but the US intelligence agencies mistakenly believed that to be all that Wakanda had. Also I'd like to add something about W'kabi & why he sided with Killmonger so easily. When Klaue stole the vibranium, it was people from W'kabi's tribe, the border tribe, that were killed. More than that though, the border tribe are the guardians of Wakanda's borders & that means they have to live away from the advanced tech of the main cities. They have to hide their tech, they are the public face of Wakanda, the ones who live a simpler life to convince the world that Wakanda is just a third world country. Perhaps W'kabi thinks that the border tribe give up a lot for Wakanda & that maybe using some of Wakanda's vast resources to take down one guy that killed a bunch of their tribe, isn't too much to ask.

With all that there would be no challenge. Just a heads up to you guys. In the prelude comic tied to the events of this movie, it’s revealed that T’Challa had already been Black Panther since around the same time that Tony Stark became Iron Man. T’Chaka continued to be king but had retired the mantle of Black Panther and passed it on to his son who was still the crown prince of Wakanda at the time. Young T’Chaka in the Oakland 1992 flashback was portrayed by John Kani’s real life son Atandwa. Griot, the Wakandan A.I., was voiced by South African comedian Trevor Noah. Finally, while we all mourn Chadwick Boseman, I would also like to acknowledge the late Dorothy Steel. She portrayed the Merchant Tribe Elder. She passed away in October 2021, but she was able to reprise her role in the sequel Wakanda Forever which would be her final film released posthumously. Miss Dorothy was 95.

Very GOOD movie, glad you guys enjoyed it. BP made 1.3 billion dollars at the box office,a-HUGE-hit,then Captain Marvel made 1.131billion. The MCU was killing it at the box office with these 2 films, then Infinity War and Endgame out did these numbers.

The thing is Killmonger was pretty much in his every right to challenge t'challa. How was he supposed to challenge him on the day of? He didnt have a choice being in America they left him there and that also purposely make it pretty much impossible to find wakanda. And he does know about the customs most because his dad would tell him about wakanda as a kid. And I do think his cause was good, but the entire way he went about it was wrong. If he had spoken to t'challa I'm 100% sure they could have worked together. And he wasn't being used by a country I think killmonger was actually working on his own if he was working for the military Agent Ross would have been aware he was also working with Klaue. If I am wrong someone can correct me.

I always wondered why this movie came in between the post credits scene of thor ragnarok, which we all knew was Thanos, and Infinity War (they used to do this thing where the post credits scene would tease the next movie). Until I saw a video from the directors saying that the idea was "if Thanos ever gets to Earth, the best place to fight him would be Wakanda."

Rest In Peace to a great actor. Loved everything Chadwick has been in and it was devastating to hear about his death. This movie sits heavy but as a reminder of just how talented he was. Even though he won’t be in the sequel to this film, I still can’t wait for you to watch Black Panther 2. They do an amazing tribute to him and the story is fantastic. Love Andy Serkis, I’ve only seen one Lord of the Rings film but I’m a big fan of his work overall. I think of Caesar from the Planet of the Apes franchise when I see him. His mocap and performance in those movies is some of the best voice work and acting I have ever had the pleasure of watching. 😄

I love that this movie really represented African culture so well. From my understanding in the costume design for the tribes they took influences from several different countries/tribes in Africa to show how rich and diverse the cultures are in the continent. I also love that the women were just as strong and powerful as the men. Neither sex was more or less capable in doing what needed to be done but were portrayed as equals.

The king of Wakanda killed Eric's father while Eric was still a young boy just for trying to make life better for his mother's people and then proceeded to abandon him like he did not even exist. Do you really think he's going to come to Wakanda respectfully?

44:18 thats the difference between M'Baku and Killmonger. M'Baku is honourable and knows he lost to T'Challa fair and square. Taking the herb for himself wouldn't make him worthy of it, and he seems like the kinda guy that who wouldn't enjoy a win not honourably won. Plus, T'Challa did spare him so itmakes sense he'd want to save him in return.
