My dad was in the military. I heard from a Navy Vet once, how he and his friends would watch the Marines early morning run to watch them drop like flies as they ran for over an hour. I don't know about the Army, but if he was a Marine he would probably be "trained" to death before being forced to do hundreds of menial tasks over and over again. They are not only responsible for their spouses actions, but your own actions is defiant torture. That's why I have a plaque in my room that reads, "Be careful of the words you say, keep them soft and sweet, you never know from day to day, which ones you'll have to eat.

@@Hunglikeagrimsmo as a veteran, I can say with no reservations. All a woman has to do is make a serious accusation. For real though, if it's, the harassment, is a on going thing. All she would need is a small bit of evidence. One recording of one incident. Then she could point back at everything else that has happened. Not long ago in Ohio at Wright Paterson airforce base this happened. Whole chains of command got wiped out for the cover up. The base general was forced to retire in disgrace. If your sister is being harassed she can put a stop to it and destroy the harasser's in the process.

I am a retired Paralegal Noncommissioned Officer. Over the course of my career, I worked in the Military Justice Office (Prosecutor), the Trial Defense Service Office (Defender), the Legal Assistance Office (help with administrative actions) and myriad other branches of the JAG office. The Chain of Command has several options when disposing of misconduct: LEAST severe - Do nothing. Verbal reprimand (Butt-chewing) Written reprimand (Counseling statement) Administrative Action (Letter of Reprimand or an evaluation that removes Sergeants from leadership positions) Summary Nonjudicial Punishment (Commander-imposed light punishment for minor offenses) Nonjudicial Punishment (Commander-imposed punishment that may include reduction in rank and forfeiture of pay) Summary Court-Martial (Trial by an appointed Officer) MOST severe - Court-Martial (Trial before a military judge which may have a panel, the military equivalent of a jury) For a Servicemember to have committed an offense under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, he has to have met the elements of the offense by committing certain acts and/or using certain language. Depending on the course the Chain of Command chooses and on the quality of the evidence gathered, any of the previously-described courses action may have been taken. And a combination may have been taken. There's a comment in the thread that says he was demoted and forfeited pay. Maybe. Courts-Martial and Article 15s are public record. It would be easy for someone to find out. Not me, though. I'm retired. This is a boiled-down version of the Military Justice process. There is a HELL of a lot to conducting a court-martial or even an Article 15 that space doesn't allow. If anyone wants to know more.... call your local JAG office. I"m retired.

I was thinking it's probably an article 15 unless this guy has a paper trail history in which case they'd just court martial him or some sort of admin separation with less than honorable discharge. probably whatever the Lt. General wanted.

Normally, I'm in favor of a verbal or written reprimand. But, the thing is that sergeant is a predator who doesn't know when to quit. Now pictures this: sometimes in the future he gets a young and pretty recruit under his command. What do you think this girl (who is fresh off basic training or HS) chances of fending him off? If I was this 3-stars I would end this guy's career. It does 2 things: 1) Protect those under her command, 2) Sends a number of messages that many can draw to various conclusions

Former Navy here. A good commanding officer would overlook the fact that this guy didn't know the authority of the woman he was hitting on. So if -- IF -- she felt fair enough to not put him on restriction for disrespecting a high ranking officer, she'd treat his offenses as if she were any other woman. Consequences for attempting to home-wreck a fellow serviceman and sexually harassing a woman after being told off? His entire division would be mustered, explained that one of their own attempted to do this, and they ALL would be attending mandatory sexual harassment training.

So the last one reminded me of my first job. I was a fruit packer on a farm in Scotland, mostly packing strawberries, raspberries, cherries and blueberries. Basically my job was normally either standing weighing the packs of fruit and correcting the weight or putting the fruit onto the conveyor belts that took the fruit from the fridge to where the scales were. It was long shifts, tiring and boring work but i was a student and if i worked all summer i didn't have to work the winter so i did it so i could focus on studying term time. Initially when i started it seemed like a good job the people i worked with either could not speak English or were pretty chill so never any issues with the other grunts working in the pack house.... That was until about a week in and the workload started building up. we went from 7 hour shifts to 16 hour shifts in the space of a week. This was when i was first acquainted with the manager (aside from the minimal training she gave me) Ill just call her S. S came onto the shop floor screeching and yelling at us telling us how slow we were going and going around accusing people of being stupid, particularly the ones who couldn't understand English. I found out this was pretty much a daily occurrence. If S wanted to speak to you god forbid she would actually call you by name I personally was either called 'that girl', '814' (which was my payroll number) or just plain old 'stupid'. Soon enough S developed a taste for bullying 6 of us in particular (3 eastern Europeans who couldn't speak English, A Bulgarian who was the only person working dispatch, myself and another native Scot) this went on and on and on. By the second season i was working she had escalated from verbal abuse which was getting increasingly vulgar to her physically grabbing staff and acting aggressively towards them (some had even been left with scratches and bruising from where she had grabbed them). Fortunately for myself i was given a short respite from the bullying when one day S came into the fridge where i was loading fruit onto the conveyor belt and she grabbed my arm. Hard. Proceded to tell me to hurry the F*** up and started calling me names. The fridge foreman (ill call him F) saw this and went ballistic screaming at her in Romanian (the few words i managed to pick up were all swear words) S returned the favour in English. eventually F calmed down enough to start talking in English and shouted at her if she ever laid a hand on any of his crew again he would beat her himself. S shrunk away into her overcoat, backed down and scuttled her way out of the fridge and back to her office. The peace lasted about a week and normal service resumed although this time S started insisting we were all super lazy when I was working at least 14 hours a day often 16 and 6 days a week in a fridge doing predominantly heavy lifting (F worked as many as 18 hours). God help you if you were caught standing doing nothing. Often our lunch breaks would be cut from half an hour to just 20 mins because we weren't working hard enough. Despite all of our 'laziness' S often only worked 8 hours and went home leaving us alone thankfully. when she did leave early the foreman would often give us an extra 15 min break around 8pm and would fudge the paperwork to make it look like we did not stop. On my third and final year it some how got worse, possibly because S had a new person to bully, a replacement manager. S had been demoted because the previous year S had tried to send a shipment of 23 pallets of week and a half old strawberries to Tesco not once, not twice but three times. S attempted to send the fruit that was rejected from the previous attempt in the following orders.... (so yes tesco got the same fruit they rejected three times and by the end the fruit was 2 and a half weeks old and literally rotting in its packaging). The day before the new manager was meant to take his job (i'll call him NM) S went to every single person in the warehouse who could speak any English and threatened us with loosing our jobs if we in any way helped NM. needless to say we ignored her mostly because we hated her and NM was a pretty reasonable guy, proper breaks and everything. He even said thank you. In the next two months S deliberately made mistakes with orders sending the wrong shipments to the wrong customers and blamed it on NM. S deliberately got the pickers to put fruit into the wrong packaging, made deliberate mistakes with the labels and made the office atmosphere so toxic that eventually NM was sacked because the owner had no proof NM could do his job and new S could at least get things done. soon enough the end of season party came around and nearly everybody was there apart from S (this was the first one i went to because it was the only 1 S had not been at). At the end of the night there were 7 of us, The Bulgarian S bullies, two quality controllers, a couple of us from the fridge and a couple from the packing line. The owner and his wife decide to join us (he is very drunk but his wife is entirely sober) after about half an hour and a few shots we let rip. We tell him she physically grabs us, we tell him S calls us by our pay roll number and not by name, that S calls us stupid, lazy (despite the crazy and as we later found out illegal hours we were working) and a few other things that I'm not gonna include here and so on, each of us has a turn and the whole time the owner is there saying he needs her and nobody else can do the job. his wife on the other hand (who runs the farms cafe) is gobsmacked, her jaw is on the floor and lets us know S will be spoken to the next day. so a couple more days pass and nothing, we hear nothing from S or the owners and its bliss but S soon returns and goes around trying to be nice to only a select few of us funnily enough those of us who let rip at the boss. none of us buy it and within the week S is back to howling like a banshee and so on. i just grit my teeth and got through the last few weeks of the season and hoped i would never have to go back only for the end of the season to come and i wait to get my payslip for my last week and holiday pay. I wait and wait and it doesn't come. about a month later I go into the cafe and ask to speak to the bosses wife and discretely ask if there's something holding it up. Bosses wife says she will get back to me in a couple of days and she does.....turns out S had not submitted my last weeks hours and withheld my holiday pay saying i was sacked in a last effort to spite me (i never found out what the grounds for the sacking were meant to be). I got my pay in the end and the final stunt S pulled lost S her job. On a final note while i was there i had figured out we had turned over 200+ members of staff, some who threatened legal action over the working conditions and others who genuinely couldn't keep up with the work load even if it had been run legally (we only needed 35 to run the place). i also was not the only one to have pay with held. Guess which other 6 people also had their pay with held...

Sailor here, corpsman currently with the marines. The Staff Sargent has committed a few Non judical punishments offincies, along with legal issues of sexual harassment. His punishment can be as severe as reduction of rank, fortitude of pay for 45 days, restriction, and dishonorable discharge. Not to mention getting his but chewed by everyone in his chain of command leading up to the general.

@rSlash Ok, I have to give you the '411' on the Air Force Story. This is what would happen: First, the 3-Star (O-8) would calmly tell them why they were summoned to her office. Second, and here is where her rank will be taken full advantage of, the 3-Star would then start to get much more detailed about the encounter. While this is going on, the SSG (Staff Sargent - E-6), the PTL (Platoon Leader, in this case, possibly a Sgt-FC - E-7), the 1SG (First Sargent - E-8), and the CO (Commanding Officer - I will presume a Captian - O-3) would be standing at attention the whole time. None of the lower-ranked people in the room would be able to say ANYTHING at all while the 3-Star is talking. Third, the 3-Star would then stress how uncomfortable she was by the SSG's speech, actions, and attitude. The 3-Star would then "suggest" (and a suggestion from an Officer of higher rank than the one that is getting this 'suggestion" is, in fact, an ORDER) to the CO, that he or she, handle it and quickly. There is a saying in the Military, "SH** rolls downhill, FAST." Once the 3-Star dismisses the group, the CO would then turn to the 1SG and tells him/her to make sure that the newly embarrassed SSG is "HANDLED". This is also an order. The 1SG would then spend several minutes 'dressing down' - or yelling at the SSG, that is if he is still an SSG at this point. The 3-Star has the ability to demote any enlisted rank from Sgt-FC (Sargent First Class) and lower for things like this if the SSG is not in the Brig (Jail) at this point. After this 'dressing down is done, the 1SG would then YELL/DEMAND the PTL to "Make sure the SH**HO** is "Dealt With!. The PTL would then turn to the SSG and say that the SSG "WILL be on every SH Duty, no weekend time, no personal time until He** Freezes over." As I said, "SH rolls downhill, FAST." I am giving to the perspective of someone that has his Dad in the US Army. I might not know the names of the ranks in the USAF but they are of the same number in both service. E-6 means Enlisted Rank 6 for example and O-3 means Officer Rank 3. I hope that answers your question of what would happen.

there’s several missing pieces. that’s the enlisted side, the O3s and below would have to know and force it and if he has been a dick to them then he’s getting demoted by them for the actions as the officer has to endure scrutiny from above. and he’s in the Air Force so he’s actually an E5, thus would have been under the captain’s and lieutenant’s ire alongside the technical and master sergeants’s ire
