Office Story: The Company likely used the Preferred Office Questionnaire to give Employees the Illusion of Choice in where they'd get sent. The Company was probably trying to improve the Employees Opinion of the Company without actually changing what the Employees were unhappy about with the Company... 😄😁😆😅😂🤣

Story 3: Technically the manager could have said "Okay, since you have officially stated that this building, which is owned by YOUR company, is unsafe to work in, we will have to shut down ALL PRODUCTION until the building is made safe to work in." Then watch the guys face drain of all color as he falls to the ground twitching & babbling while going insane...or his head explodes...whichever comes first :)

A guy I know is a total wind-up merchant...seriously. And he worked for a company that had the same 'Must be clean shaven' rule. So in he goes to work after a two week holiday...with a beard. Manager ( somewhat obviously ) flipped his lid...right up until he was told 'I AM clean shaven...it's just not where you can see'. The rules didn't specify things very clearly...and those same rules were dropped not long after :-)

that MC of yours at the end of story 2? did he ever specify where you needed to be clean shaven? there are bodyparts that are usually not visible to customers, but if he insists checking them? you should've asked him to check there.

Here's a story to share. You're comment about being clean shaven reminded me of my time working for a state prison system. We were short staffed, dealing with violent offenders, and under constant pressure. Every day was Hell and we only had each other and our building seargent to back us. Day in, day out, long hours, no guarantee about ever being able to leave the building while the sun was out (we were not always relieved when our shifts ended, and breaks were a rare treat,) the job was the same thing, every day, dealing with the same obstinate, and often violent criminals, with not protection beyond a radio, and a stab resistant vest that was at best cleaned by a few spritz of chemical, though they never dried of sweat from the last guy to wear it. The 110 heat made all the worse by it, especially with the 12-16 hour (without break) shifts. It only became worse when the plague happened. We now had to walk into the cells of these violent inmates to spray cleaner. Then there was the grooming standards. Clean shaven. No matter what. Inmates could have the religious freedom to wear beards, but not us. If you got a doctor's note to allow them, it only stopped it for a month or so. Then, as an entire shift for our building decided to just get a note and stop. With the exception of the female sarge, and a couple Africans, we all stopped shaving. It actually got to be our hall mark, and I still wear the same beard I grew then to this day. We also became rather disruptive during morning briefings because we no longer considered ourselves part of the same department, and being harped on about their issues irritated us. It was bad enough that even our supervisor jumped on a high ranking supervisor for jumping on us for denying that we were General Population. We were high security, and unless you found a dead body they would never let you out of the building. Unfortunately, that isn't an exaggeration. But they had lost our group. All of us no longer respected them, and we would not shave no matter what. When we had to help other departments during overtime, they couldn't do anything either.

The first story…the last time a boss talked to me like that face to face, I ripped him a new one and stared at him until he apologized and slunk away to his office. It took everything in me and then some to not beat the living hell out of him. I don’t put up with that. Never have and never will. Respect given is respect earned. Same with disrespect.

@danamoore1788

Sorry that is a fair and logical thing to do. Companies like to write the rules just vague enough they can be used against employees. Either to ensure they are not compensated, promoted, or they can more easily be fired. The show a dictionary to any boss I had. Would have gotten the dictionary thrown at my head with screaming. 'Natural colors' are what the manager deems they are!

Because that is very clearly sexual harassment and any judge would rule it as such. How he kept his job anyways being such a liability idk.
