We are presenting a rare audio for you, from 1982, that we have been able to locate.
The late Sri. V. Bhargavan Vaidyar, a prominent household disciple of Sree Narayana Guru had delivered this speech in the Sreenarayana Dharmameemamsa Parishad held in Sivagiri.
Vaidyar who had spent 17 years with Guru in Sivagiri, shares his golden memories and remembers his close association with Guru in personal anecdotes. Vaidyar was the one who first announced Guru's Mahasamadhi in 1928 to the world. He vividly sketches the uniqueness of Sree Narayana Guru in the Rishi lineage of India. Vaidyar also elaborates his discussion on Atmopadesa Satakam (Guru's philosophical masterpiece in Malayalam) with Guru and the deep philosophical insights and uniqueness of this work. Also, Vaidyar portrays Guru's practical demolition of false notions of casteists and his staunch opposition to toddy/liquor production, distribution, and consumption. This speech was recorded by Mr. Kailasanathan K.P. from Kottayam. Guru Anugraham, Bangalore is deeply indebted to him for giving us permission to make this speech public. We also thank Mr. Suthan Bhaskaran, Kolkata, and Dr. P.K. Sabu for their eagerness and efforts to disseminate this audio.
