Clarification there. The fielder that catches the ball is classified under rule 19.5 of the cricketing laws as being grounded. Therefore if they caught the ball inside the boundary line, and go over the boundary line while holding the ball, the ball then would be classed as FOUR runs. If the ball is caught outside the boundary line then it is classed as being SIX runs since the player grounded the ball after the boundary line.

Actually sending out Enigma encoded blocks of data. The message is typed into the unit as a long string, no spaces and no punctuation other than the usual telegraph words, like new paragraph and stop, then the output is written down into a pad in blocks of letters, and then sent to the recipient, where it gets written into the blocks again, and typed into the machine, and comes out as text. Then you rewrite it into something a little more legible.

@Oren Black Actually, no. They used an impersonator for the singing parts, because Michael Jackson wanted to play a joke on his brothers (or to find out whether they realized which parts were him, that depends on the source). The singing was done by Kipp Lennon, whom Michael Jackson seemingly found hillarious. Michael Jackson did later record the songs, but those versions were not used for the TV episode. He also wasn't credited for the episode, the voicing credit went to "John Jay Smith", and the creators weren't allowed to confirm that Michael Jackson actually worked on the show, atleast not at the time. Dustin Hoffman was also credited under an alias a few episodes earlier, but then the producers of the show changed the contracts for guest stars, so that they had to be credited under their real names.

A pod was swimming from where they were fishing and surfing near shore out towards open water, and two broke off from the group and swam towards the dude, slipped under before he noticed them, popped up about 25 m from him and swam on the surface with just their dorsal fins showing, slipped under at about 10 M, the guy started screaming, and then they breached on both sides of him, like right next to him, then swam around him a couple times, and took off to join their buddies. Seeing a one-letter word will give a clue as to what those letters are.

@@hztm It's easy enough to transmit letters and have anybody copy it but in this case sensitive info during the war had to be coded during transmission so even if it was intercepted, which was often the case, it was more difficult to decipher and transmitting it was more difficult because the progression of letters was not relying on muscle memory of other words to transmit. An example would be while transmitting a word like "sensitive" the sender had to be accurate and quick so he wouldn't misspell a word and make it into a different word with a non sensical meaning in the context such as the word "sensible".

I'm not even a cricket fan, but that move by that girl was impressive AF. basically, if the ball touches the floor on the other side, it's a SIX. but also, if she's touching the ball, and she's also touching the floor, it's a SIX. so she has to prevent the ball from crossing the line while being inside the boundary. Also, if she catches the ball, while remaining inside the boundary, and the ball never touched the floor, it's an OUT. So not only did she prevent the six, she also caught out the player from other team. What happened there is, She caught the ball, And released it before touching the floor, Jumped back inside the boundary, and caught it again. So according to rules, she caught it while being inside the boundary... Awesome

I believe in cricket is applied the same rule as basket for bounds. As long as your feet aren't touching the ground outside while you are holding the ball, it is considered in. She caught the ball, but she was falling outside, so she threw the ball in the air, touched the ground while empty handed, then jumped back inside the field grabbing the ball again, keeping it valid.

1:35 So a bit of explanation on the code, now our messages on the internet are automatically encrypted. In the good old days they don't have that, and it is quite easy to tap in to wires, and radio channels. So when especially during war time when people need to send secret messages, often times they have to write a message, encrypt the message with some secret key, eliminate the spaces (because spaces can give out the length of the words and thus make messages easier to decrypt) then send it out. So that is why the old man is looking at pages of just random letters. It is probably an encrypted message like the one he would be sending during the war.

With the cricket catch, if you catch the ball, but before bringing it under full control, you put one foot over the boundary rope, then the catch doesn't count, and it becomes a Six for the batter... because the fielder knew they were unbalanced, by patting it up into the air, they could step outside, regain balance, and then step back in to take the catch. You also sometimes see one person stop the ball from reaching the boundary, with a second fielder following up to catch (if in the air) or return the ball (if it's bounced) as a way to prevent boundaries...
