My n°1 BEST album EVER ! For me, this is the best rock live performance of the 20th century ! Can't find another way to see it. For recall, this particularly performance literaly subjugated the audience ! Catholics and protestants didn't end it on a fight or trouble, as live performance used to end by that time of civil trouble. Rory made a consensus of love ! RIP Rory Gallagher. Rock misses you

A true gentleman, eloquent both verbally & musically; modest; man of the people; no "star" antics or pretensions. I saw him only once 1972 Xmas-New Year concert , Dublin National Stadium. A terrible, unnecessary loss to Ireland and far beyond. World's greatest guitarist , ever, with a true, rich singing voice. R.I.P. Rory.

I was at boarding school in the 70's, a reggae, funk & soul fan, aged 15. The lad in the next "cubicle" was an Irish fella, Eynon. The walls were 10mm plywood & he played Rory Gallagher, mainly Irish Tour all the time & drove me nuts. Years later, living in Cornwall when the surf was big & scary we'd play that album, especially the 1st track, as loud as f*** on the short drive to the spot to give us some b*lls. And it worked. Of course, now i love Rory G.

The playing is excellent , the arangements are fine , but I think it was that tin sounding of the Stratocaster that kept Rory from being heralded as a rock superstar along with Clapton , Page , Peter Green , Andy Powell and others that used Gibsons to work their craft . I know that tone is a matter of taste , and some people love the Strat sound , but his same licks on a heavy Les Paul would have had more punch .
