I remember my fourth birthday. There were balloons everywhere. I went up to my uncle and told him "Happy Birthday!" because "birthday" was a national holiday and I wanted him to have a happy one. He turned to me, a sad look in his eyes, and explained that no...it was not, indeed, HIS birthday...only mine. And that was the day I learned that all this commotion, all this fuss, all this undertaking, was for me and me alone. It was MY birthday. And that was when I realized that I am too much for this world, sucking up resources by my very existence. That was the day that I gained full self-awareness.

25:29 Nah, Orcas are way too violent to be called "sea pandas". The reason behind the name "orca' is because they were named after Orcus which is the greek god of torture and, it really fits. The name "killer whale" I think is because their name in Spanish is basically "whale killer", which also fits. So far none has been recorded killing a person, but they have been starting to mess with boats more so that might change in a few years.

7:17 interestingly enough, birth pain is extremely severe, however the joy of holding your baby for the first time tend to sweeten the memory making it less "severe" in the memory of the mother, so she will remember the joy of giving birth but will remember a lighter pain that she experienced, making her not consider it absurd to do it all over again. This is an instance of "halo effect".

For me, I was a bit under 2 and a half, sitting on the couch watching my parents play Atari. It was my first memory, and it felt like I had woken up to the world, but I knew who my parents were. I became very curious about everything, and asked with my limited vocabulary what they were doing, and they started explaining how pong and breakout worked to me, beginning a lifelong fixation with video games. I only know my general age because I was born in June and clearly remember this was before Christmas as I have memories from that Christmas (scribbling a "letter to Santa" and sitting under the tree with my younger brother as I played with the plastic icicle lights, and getting Pinocchio on VHS which had moments that scared the crap out of me.) And I can much more clearly remember celebrating my third birthday after we moved.

The way i compare the pain of giving birth and getting kicked in the nuts is thus Giving birth takes several hours, with newr constant pain throughout ranging from moderate to extremely severe Getting kicked in the nuts takes no time at all, and leaves you in severe pain for a few minutes to possibly an hour, before pettering out. So no matter what, giving birth is going to be more painful than getting kicked in the nuts.

I think a more direct parallel would be spending several hours passing large gall stones, then everything between your penis and anus getting violently ripped apart. And then having to recuperate from that. I'm a man, btw, I'm just not under the illusion that men go through anything like childbirth outside of particularly nasty accidents.
