'What' is a pretty big country located slightly west from 'How' and south from 'Why'. It's mostly rural, but has some very large cities. The country's capital is 'What the ****', and the most populated city is Whattemburg. Whatanese is the primary language used in What, but Howish and English are also pretty widely spoken. The country has it's own currency: 'whatter' or ₩ (not to be mistaken with Korean won) and it has a remarkable population of 112 million. What has a rich history and culture. It's most well known in history for the great 'What for' conflict. The end of the 'What for' (4/20/1769) is still rememered during the 'Whattenfest' that is held during What for's anniversary. So feeling like I have an idea of what's happening I ask if she's got something on her desk that might be pressing down on the space bar, cue embarrassed laughter and the confirmation that that was exactly what had been happening and the 'something' was in fact her....bosom.

First story: Is this a crossover from r/StoriesAboudKevin? There's no way that someone would call tech support, a specialist in anything technological, and then ignore their instructions about simply clicking an e-mail link without being a Kevin level of stupid. Second story: I don't know if this guy thought that an IT server is running with sensors that responds negatively to any changes in the system, or that it has some sort of artificial consciousness that expresses emotions of distress about it, but either are equally as hilarious for any tech savvy person I bet. Third story: Her problem sure was *_bigger_* than she realized. Fourth story: Even a voice-controlled machine that repeatedly says "Error: Instructions not understood. Please rephrase." would be more tolerable than this low-intelligence lifeform that mistakes basic words for "technological terms". OP wasn't kidding when he said their business was a P.I.T.A. to deal with. If I was working with this kind of tech support, I would call out to have every phone conversation recorded and documented for cases of unprofessional and incompetent use of services like in this story. Fifth story: I dread to think about how many people like this that any single tech support has to deal with on a regular basis. With this level of technological incompetence, it wouldn't even surprise me if their short-term memory and attention span is equally as awful in their everyday life. You can teach preschoolers these kind of numerical inputs way easier than OP tried to do with this customer, and that's saying a lot.

First story I would have demanded the husband to shut up or leave the room before proceeding at all, smh. Can't do tech support while someone else is interfering! If she needs my help, that must mean hubby can't help her, so she shouldn't listen to him. If she's gonna take his advice over mine however, then there's no need for my assistance, as she's evidently thinking her man can solve the problem just as well if not better then I can.

My favourite customer complaint was an email that just said „Doesn’t work“. Literally just those two words. No reference line (apart from the auto-generated one created by the ticketing system), no greeting, no nothing. Nada. Zip. Also, „Doesn’t work“ is the only error message that every software in the world is capable of, according to a lot of users.

Funny thing was he told me that sometimes they needed to reset the router, but that the guy who could do it wouldn't be in the next day. I told him I knew a bit about such things and I'd be happy to take a look at it. The router was in a storage room next to my room, and it was just a standard Linksys wireless router.
