How is nobody talking about how "Nicole" is the absolute worst person in the first story? I will say Mistress Sarah & OP's now ex-husband aren't blameless, but someone purposely inviting a homewrecker to a wedding to make a scene because they're a racist POS is another level of vile!

Reading this the first time, which is what rSlash always does, you'd never noticed Nicole's involvement here and seems to mainly be about OP, her husband and Sarah. Honestly, this story feels like this is all plotted by Nicole because she's against her being with her husband for obvious reasons and wants to break them up completely, and luckily for her, she has Sarah who's upset that her man picked OP over her, so what better way to break them up than by using her anger towards OP to ruin their wedding?

He told me a few weeks before he passed that he was thankful that he was the one who was dying because he felt I would be the better parent to raise the girls. He was strong until his final day. I was a stay at home parent so the girls would naturally come to me first for everything. I make sure they knew what a great dad and provider he was for us. He asked me to find someone that would be a good husband and an amazing father for the girls. Two years later I found that man and we married a year later. Yeah, I’m 100% convinced something is going on between him and Sarah; he is demanding OP apologize to Sarah when she was the problem? Wooow, ok Josh is scum, Nicole is racist scum, and Sarah is pure scum. That explains everything, Josh has been cheating on OP for 4 years and Nicole helped Sarah with her revenge; honestly OP needs to get rid of all of these people because they are the worst Second Story: Wow this is a very tragic story. OP's late husband felt like his kids didn’t love him enough and wouldn’t mourn his death but in reality, they are deeply grieving him and he will never know. Afterwards, she hired a lawyer cause her things and bank acount were on his name, also try to null the marriage and went to live with her parents. In the other update, says that she broke up with him, nulled the marriage and got most of her things (car, bank account, whatnot and even the dogs) but not the house; both paid for it so theres nothing she can do for now. Thankfully he was decent enough to give back things she owned without the need to go to court, and as it stands everything is over, and she can move on with her life. He's also not trying to win her back or trying to guilt-trip her into staying, which is unusual for Reddit. She's also cut contact with Nicole and Sarah, and apparently her ex-husband has _also_ cut contact with Sarah. Probably the cleanest annulment I've read on Reddit. I'm very happy for OP for that because it's not normally that clean. It's also refreshing for an ex to act somewhat normally in an annulment; I'm so used to seeing the Karens and Chads in these cases.

I remember dad coming home being so exciting. Both my parents did work the whole time though. I think Lilly will go through phases of adoring her dad being very proud of him and being maybe a bit embarrassed at times. Especially when her dad discusses passionate hugging 😂😂

My father was the breadwinner while my mother was a stay at home mom. Every day when my father came home from work, even before he took his suit off, he was playing with us. We all would wait for him to come home from work, we'd play, then sit down and eat as a family, then play some more. I am forever grateful to my father, even when he was bone tired from work, he would still play with us. I'm also grateful for my mother for ensuring we had that relationship. I've asked her about it lately, and half of it was my dad really being that kind of dad, and half was her making sure we interacted with him as well, telling us to go with him on errands on weekends, having us help him in the garage, having us ask him for things. She didn't have much interactions with her dad and she didn't want that for us. My heart goes out to Op and her kids. It's hard to ensure you have that type of balance.

Story 2: OPs Brother in Law should've taken that to the grave. If he wanted to help he could've hinted at OPs family by saying "He doesn't say it but he's lonely and could use more support." That way they could've actually done something for him. BiL not saying anything until the husband passed is just cruel at this point. I think the husband actually wanted his brother to say something to get the kids to visit. I can't even imagine how OP is feeling and I'm scared the kids will find out some day.

Strangely enough I was thinking the same thing that rslash was thinking. After my father died I was so glad to have some songs of his as a recording. And when I listened to rslash and he mentioned his daughter I was thinking to myself "how lucky is this kid, to have a podcast of her dad reading her funny stories"

You’re good, rSlash. Kids gravitate to mom naturally, and having a SAHM would SEEM to increase that, but as a single income father with a SAH wife, and being raised by the same dynamic, my kids love and appreciate the time we have together and seem to hold me in as high regard as we (six boys) hold our dad, Just off your AITA responses, you’re a gem. Lily’s very fortunate 🙏🏾

rSlash, I think everyone here will agree that if your child did see these videos, she would understand just how much you've impacted everyone who watches your videos, whether from entertainment or giving out advice/constructive criticism. She would not feel bad, she would be happy knowing just how much you've helped, even changed people's views and outlooks on the world. Even support. Yes, it okay to feel worried, but don't let it scare you, heck, take the time off to spend more time with her if you feel the need to, but she will NEVER hate you, sad maybe, but not anger. Hope this brings you some comfort, peace and love to you and your family sunflower, you deserve it.

Hey rslash. I know it’s probably too late for you to see this but my mom was a stay at home mom for my childhood. My dad was the breadwinner. And every day he would come home and spend time with me even though he was tired from work. Every. Day. He was there for me even though he was gone all day. When my parents divorced I made the decision to live with him full time. He passed away in March so your speech hit me hard. Basically what I’m trying to say is as long as you love Lily and spend time with her and never let her doubt how much you love her, it will all work out. Your fears are the same as my dads were. But from listening to you every day for the last 3-4 years, you have nothing to worry about. ❤

rSlash talking about his fears and insecurities reminded me of something..... There was a girl who lost her dad during the events of 9/11, in which she was just a baby at that time. Her dad worked within the building, having made a 911 call as he was on one of the higher floors. That call seemed, in the video I watched, to be the only source she had of her dad's voice.

I know it was light hearted but damn, when rSlash said "so Lily if I'm dead and you're listening to this, I love ya girl" I freakin burst into tears. I honestly think my biggest fear in life is my parents dying. I literally can't even think about it without tearing up and I can't imagine a world where I can't call to talk about issues or share exciting things. I literally can't cope with it and I don't know what I'll do when the day comes.

Second story made me tear up a bit. I agree with you RE: this channel being a time capsule and a way for your daughter to get to know you. A few years ago I lost a friend to suicide. He played in a band and they released quite a bit of music on Spotify etc. Every time I go and listen to one of his songs, it's like he's still alive.

When my kids were young I was the main bread winner. My wife was a teacher but that obviously doesn't pay that much. It also meant that she was home when they came home from school (which is only about 2pm). So, I made sure I was home for supper EVERY night. I would read them a bedtime story - even falling asleep myself on their bed. 😂

I can attest to the time capsule. I streamed games with my baby sister and my mom both. In early 2021, my mom and dad passed away, and my sister passed late 2021. Those streams are still on KZitem any time I want to hear their voices. I haven't gotten up the courage to listen, but it's kinda comforting to know they're there when I DO have the guts.

One of my nephew is a total daddy's boy. I went to help babysit once when my brother in law was on a business trip and he cried throughout the night for his dad. His brother on the other hand is a total momma's boy, basically glued to my sister's hip all the time.

A "wedding party" is actually the people actively involved in the wedding: bride, groom, bridesmaids, and groom men. What OP is calling the "wedding party" is actually called "the reception". I'd ignore it as something one can easily infer, except the term being used *is* a term in weddings and means something completely different.

Story 2 shows exactly why you need to appreciate people while they are around. They often say the first time a man receives flowers is when he’s in the grave. Hearing the daughter say “I hope he knew how much I loved him” when the mom knows he didn’t is heart wrenching

That last story actually didn't end well. To sum it up, op's brother got disowned by his family because he kept sidong with his wife and her homophobic family. If i remember right the family also disowned the brother because her family was sending threats to op and hi bf and things wouldn't stop so op's family had to get involved which led to some serious consequences. Op is ok.

Rslash as someone who was raised by my grandparents in a single income family, yes I loved my grandma a lot, she raised me. However everyday pop would get home and he would plays with me. He’d let me make him food with plastic kitchen sets and would throw me into the air, during summer he would throw me in the pool. We would go on family vacations and all of us would bond. If you are ever worried about that then take a vacation when your daughter is a bit older and can remember. Take her to the beach or the mountains, it doesn’t have to be anywhere fancy like Disney world. Just go to the beach and play with her in the sand and in the ocean. My grandpa would take me out into the deeper water and teach me how to fight the waves. He made sure I never drowned. He use to take me fishing and hunting with him on his days off work. Just spend as much time with your kid as you can.

Second Story: RSlash said that job importance doesn’t hit a child until they’re 8 but I would argue it is later than that, and even then, it doesn’t really hit until teenage years/adulthood. My dad works in business finance and spent my entire life building his career for his family. I don’t think it hit me that he may feel unloved until this past Christmas. He’s the hardest to buy gifts for because he is a bit of an impulsive buyer (he doesn’t overspend but will buy things he wants if he can afford them) and has everything someone could think to get them. I asked my mom what I should get him and she said “Just give him your time.” He had spent so much time on business trips for months at a time, away from his children in different countries to make sure we had the best life possible. And all he wants in return is a good, happy relationship with each of us. I was immensely proud of myself on Father’s Day when I got him gifts that could bring a new experience to him and could help him remember the experiences we’ve already had. I love my dad immensely and he is a huge part of my life and where I am today. And I hope he sees that.

Last story: That brother is a piece of work, and quite frankly a coward. The family in-law did NOT “force” them to get married in a church. They put pressure on the couple and the couple caved to their demands rather than being adults and maintaining their own wedding plans. Furthermore, rather than being an adult and defending his own brother’s existence and sexuality, he once again caved and kicked his own flesh and blood out of the wedding. Third times the charm, because when the wedding was “ruined” due to drama caused by their own prejudice, the brother once again caved to the family in-law and went to berate OP who did ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong. What a pansy.

Rslash, as an adult child of a man who was emotionally distant my entire childhood, and at one point we only spoke when arguing, what i remember the most is how lottle effort he made to spend any kind of time with me. Even when I suggested we do things that i knew he would enjoy. So just spend time with her. Watch the kid shows with her. Color with crayons with her. Do things that only she likes to do. Do things that you both like to do. Give her your free time and attention and she will love you strongly as well. I hope that yalls relationship is an amazing one.
