Marriages (potentially) wrecked by this affair: Op and Sarah Evelyn and Marty Evelyn‘s coworker(s?) covering for her OP’s brother “Jake“ and his wife… All of whom (except Op and Sarah) have small kids… When will cheaters finally learn that it’s never worth it?!?

OP's brothers marriage is fine, OP made him come clean to his wife about masseging the OF model and he did in couples therapy, which they already had since they were having trouble with intimicy in their marriage. There was one more update 4 days ago. OP urged his brother to come clean to his wife. Apparently they are already in marriage counselling and he dropped it during that. She shrugged it off, and when OP asked her if she REALLY was okay with it, she admitted neither of them was squeaky clean, they both watch porn and she just considers that the same thing - unlike if he'd gone to a prostitute, to use the example OP used. Re. Marty and Evelyn, he's still divorcing her but shes holding up the works by pleading for a reconciliation. He hasn't gone to Evelyn's work about her and the affair partner, nor has he told 'Jake's' wife about the affair - something OP disagrees with, though Marty stated that he's basically keeping all the evidence in the knowledge he could 'bury' Jake if he wanted to. Evelyn has moved back in with her parents, who are none too pleased with her OR Sarah, but the impending divorce has taken most of their focus off Sarah. Sarah and OP aren't together. She's moved into her parent's place and is going to therapy to address her issues of insecurity resulting in deception in an attempt to please others, while OP tries to figure out which parts of her are genuine and which aren't. OP is prepared to drop out entirely if he figures that Sarah's issues are too big of a deal for him.

It's not about the "cover up" of the affair, it's the willing participation to deceive. Not saying anything to the Bro-in-Law is not the issue, it's the deception (in the cover-up) to her partner. That is, she lied and deceived him. She failed to be honest with the person she was engaged to marry. She purposely deceived him, as well, by verbalizing respect for her Bro-in-law, while disrespecting him AND her niece. She didn't care about her sister, her significant other, her brother-in-law nor their child... she (Sarah) took the path of least personal harm... THAT is the issue at hand. I'm reading the other comments he made, and it looks like Sarah was manipulated by her sister. That's the reason why she came clean so easily. She never really liked the affair, but her love for her sister was strong, the sister's coworkers had also encouraged Evelyn, so it kinda pressured Sarah to keep her mouth shut if other women were doing it too. Now that things are risking her, she distanced herself from Evelyn.

So there’s more updates Basically OP talked to his brother about the whole OF thing and his bro admits that his relationship had hit a rough spot. They’re now going to therapy for it and it’s all good again so he rly doesn’t want OP to bring up the OF stuff. At some point Sarah tells OP that their parents are coming over (she called them over without telling him) and they talk about the wedding. Her family wants him to forgive her and altho his family doesn’t fully agree with his choices they are still supportive. During this time it also comes out that OP wants Sarah to move out and kinda wants to end the relationship, she blows up and says that she is NOT going to end/ give up on this relationship and that she refuses to leave and that’s she will work this out no matter what. OP never says how he managed to clear up the whole OF situations with Sarah but he did and here’s where shit starts getting real. He asks her why she did this and she admits that her sister had always been the leader and her the follower, her sister has been borderline abusive her whole life and to cope she has sort of developed a extreme people pleasing habit and a sort of mirror syndrome. She mirrors the people she talks to, like their personality and wants and needs and stuff. She’s gonna go to therapy (I think) and OP realizes that she was mostly just reflecting Evelyn’s bad personality and following her lead due to trauma BUT he also realizes that he doesn’t really know her. He knows the reflection of himself and his wants and needs that she kind of became once they met, or at least that’s what he’s questioning right now. It’s a whole thing and it was a while since I heard it last but she’s heartbroken, he’s questioning everything, Evelyn’s pissed at him , they’re out a bunch of money cus some services (like catering, even tho they hadn’t bought it made the food yet) REFUSED to give anything back. There are full versions of the story on KZitem, I think it’s usually called something like “my fiancé helped her sister cheat and I can’t marry her anymore”, “my fiancé helped her sister cheat” or “I broke my engagement to my fiancé because she helped her sister cheat” or something like that.

The most recent Update says his brother is doing fine, he basically wanted to get off and decided to use OF. His wife is handling it pretty well since there wasn't any physical or emotional cheating involved. Just a bump in the road. OP said he should have used ChatGPT if he really wanted cyber hugging. OP is still communicating with Sarah, and is unsure of his future with her. Sarah is working on her emotional chameleon behavior, especially with the people pleasing, but it looks like the sister is very much a domineering force in her life and that's why she acted like she had. OP is overall a flipping Chad, as he really did everything right, and is navigating all the social problems in his life excellently. And it's not false arrest if no one gets arrested. The only person arrested was the sister that actually did the assault. Asking questions is not arrest. @@wingracer1614 You're one of those people who love to stir shit that isn't there, aren't you? OP said that he had video evidence of what happened, neither of the two women disagreed with it, and obviously there was no history of DV at that location. So the young officer was probably thinking with the wrong head, possibly even something like "if I rescue the damsel in distress, maybe she'll 'reward' me!" Believe it or not, we guys think like that. Either that, or he was looking for a reason to prove that he's some sort of super cop who can sniff out crimes that people are trying to hide. The officer had NO reason to suspect that OP was a threat to anyone, especially when he didn't know the background for what had happened. OP was injured but neither of the women had marks on them from being assaulted. Neither of them tried to claim that OP assaulted either (or both) of them, or tried to offer a defense for the injuries to OP. The fact that OP said he recorded it and the women not demanding the video be viewed to see what "really" happened is also a major clue. Officer had numerous reasons to believe what he was told and no reason to believe something more was happening (ie, OP being a threat to Sarah). So stop trying to act like you know how things would have been different "if." And stop trying to be Sarah's/Evelyn's savior, because the odds are, they aren't going to reward you with some hanky-panky. There are even more updates (provided they weren't made up for the TikTok algorithm) after this where Op's ex-fiancé reveals that she was heavily bullied and traumatized by her sister throughout childhood and therefore was only helping her sister out of fear of retaliation. They still agreed this didn't excuse her behaviour but she's cut off her sister and I believe is going to start therapy and they're giving the relationship another chance.

As bad as standing someone up at the alter, I would’ve stood her up, sending a note for my best man or whoever to read it and expose what has been happening to everyone - and say that unfortunately because of this cheating enabling, I would not be marrying her and wouldn’t recommend marrying her or the sister to anyone.

That affair ruining 4 marriages reddit story should have a movie made about it, and be called "Four Divorces in One Affair" or something. Maybe "Love and Other Divorces", or "The Cheating Domino Theory" idk ^^'

A good person, especially family, wouldn’t help someone cheat on their partner. They would call them out and tell them how idiotic it would be to cheat on their partner.

Went to reddit to read the rest of the updates. Here's a TL;DR: OP's brother and his wife are all good thanks to therapy and the blue pill (I kid you not). Marty is divorcing Evelyn and decided to not ruin Jake's marriage for now because "he has the evidence, he could drop the bomb anytime". Op thinks Marty's having a bit of dark fun torturing Evelyn and Jake with that. As he should. OP and Sarah are not completely over but they're not "together" anymore. They're reconsidering everything. Because Sarah is trying to find who she is as a person after a lifetime of people pleasing and and doing her sister's bidding.

This story reminds me of Adevture Time episode City of Thieves, where it's just constant malicious thievery, but in this case, cheating. The police pissed me off the most. They don't deserve their badges.

Better than any episode of Cheaters, with self-inserted Vine boom for the "body count" at the end. 🗿🗿🗿🗿 Holy crap, what a ride that was! Hope things start to go positive for OP. I definitely feel the frustration when he was dealing with the officers because most people know what they were fishing for, and that needs to be redressed through annual training for [current year]. for anybody that hasn't figured this out already: if someone thinks it's okay to do something to somebody else, then they think it's okay to do it to anybody, including you, their spouse or significant other, their own family, their best friends... and if they haven't yet that's only because the situation hasn't risen that allows them to justify it to themselves. this means that it's probably only a matter of time. further, if they're okay with somebody else doing it, that means they're okay with it themselves. refer to the first paragraph. granted there might be a situation where it seems justifiable, and that maybe draws "the line in the sand" but always remember that doesn't mean that you know where that line actually is. one example does not tell the whole story. maybe they think it's justifiable because "eye for an eye", or "good for the goose is good for the gander", or maybe they think everybody cheats, and so that's why they cheat. and obviously just doesn't only apply to cheating, it also applies to lying, stealing, murder, anything we apply a moralistic code to, and invent societal rules to protect ourselves against. at this point we've all heard the term "confirmation bias" if someone learning about relationships in high school only experiences lying and cheating, watches daytime soap operas, reads a lot of trashy romance novels, yeah they're pretty good they're going to grow up thinking that THAT'S the normal way to be, because that's what their experience always was. similarly somebody whose friend group includes this one kid who steals and lies, until they go to the mall and he convinces them to steal & lie, so now this friend group is a group of people who steal & lie, they think it's okay and so they go out into the world and they gravitate to other people who do this as well. the people who don't learn pretty quick that these people are untrustworthy, and so they avoid them. this means that the people who lie and steal and up mostly associating with other people who lie and steal and they'll all lie and steal from each other, which leads to the confirmation bias that everybody lies and steals, because to them, everybody they know that's what they do. my advice is to learn as quickly as possible to recognize the tells of people who do this, and always keep those people at arm's length, do your best to never give them anything to work with that will involve you in their schemes. maybe watch a lot of "scammer payback" videos, and if you have somebody in your family that does this analyze the shit out of how they interact with people.

You know it’s a great story when it’s the whole video!!! Damn…Evelyn was pretty clever. I’m a little surprised that none of the friends or Sarah had a conscience and rat her out to someone. Unless she played their emotions that Marty was some douchebag or bad husband and father, and somehow “justified” it. When a person knowingly gets involved with a married person, they usually know what the situation is, and enjoy the perks with none of the responsibilities. It’s much like Death Note. Light had it all perfect except his crew. Aizawa was a snitch; as Sarah was careless with her phone. If she didn’t lie in front of OP, this never would have happened. Either way, Justice was served. Plus I hope the 2 coworkers who were covering PLUS “Jake” all had their marriages/lives ruined, too.

The sexism men face when making abuse reports disgusts me. It doesn’t matter if the severity isn’t deemed to be high. Assault is assault and too many women get away with it because society doesn’t view them as aggressors.
