Another interesting perspective is provided by Pt Ramashreya Jha 'Ramrang' where he explains the Bageshri ang Jaijaiwanti is better viewed as Gara ang ki Jaijaiwanti. The movement to the mandra dhaivat in R RgRS RN'S SS SN'RS nD indicates the Gara link. This phrase is heard in khayals such as 'More mandir ab lo nahin aye' (Agra) and 'Sundar Shyam dekhan ki asha' (Vishnu Digambar school). Even Bhimsen ji sang 'Nahi nahi bolun ab tum se Kanhaiya' with almost the same phrase in the mukhda.

2:18 -m 2:22 definitions are INCORRECTLY described by Vijay Koparkar. Here is what he generalized - Raag ka chalan, vistar aur pakkad in one meaning which is misguiding to a detailed oriented student. Chalan = Pakkad = Mukhya Ang Vistaar is a totally different zone where the swaras are discretly arranged in various groups to produce the feeling of a particular Raag. This arrangement can be pretty long, but it is essential for students to practice the Vistaar whether in vocal or on any instrument. I am not here to criticize or argue but want to clarify what I have learned.
