Thank you very much. This made my afternoon. So glad I could have helped.

James, is there a way to download the .mov files with RS3 using USB connected to my EVO4S? Or do you need to remove the SDCard from the Smartycam? I race motorbikes and the smartycam 3 sport is installed in the fairing. It is difficult to reach.

Hi Frank. In my experience, you'll need to download from the SmartyCam. Sorry, wish it could be an easier answer.

Thank you for all your videos. I see ou mention Smartycam for videos, however I have a Gopro. Will it work with the GoPro

Hi! It won't I'm afraid. There are 3rd party programs (like Race Render) but in RS3A this is not an option.

@@JamesColborn What if we clip the GoPro video to start at same second as the data and then manually link the two?

@@JamesColbornthis is a bummer. So, in order to link data and video I have to buy the camera as well. AiM looked cool up until now.

I hear you. I can only comment on their position. I do love thier cameras for at track analysis, often only looking at video with the data overlayed, however, I can also see the desire to use existing cameras already bought. There are other options that can help you in market, like a Garmin Catalyst. I hope you find the bst solution.

Hi James, I'm using RS3 to analyze my iRacing datas at the moment, do you know how I could import iRacing replays to RS3 ?
@JamesColborn

Hi! I wish you could, however, the only video RS3A can analyse is taken from a SmartyCam. There are other options for iRacing like VRS but this is subscription based. Worth a look though.

Good evening. My video seems to be out of sync with the data. What causes this, and what can be done to fix it? Thanks -Scott
@JamesColborn

Hi! The first is to make sure the video/data are linked on same GPS. You can link/unlink the video by right clicking on the session, try unlinking then relinking to see if that helps. You need to ensure they are both using the same GPS file, this might do it.

How to I get 'Time Compare' to show up on Data-Movies? I have Data-Movies set up the same way as Time-Distance, except for the two videos on the top half of the screen. Graph is set as distance, but not Time Compare populates. Thanks!!

There is, top right, the wrench/spanner, you will find options for your Data/Video page. Look on that menu for 'show time-compare bar' (or wording similar) and it'll switch it on. I hope this helps.

Hi James, I've linked the data file with the video file but they are not in sync no matter what I do. I'm using an EVO4 and Smarty cam2

Hi! If you can't sync them, I recommend sending a note to AiM via their feedback process. I've found the moment I link mine, all works well (in fact, had to do it all weekend with an EVO4S and SCHD 2.1. Sorry to hear you are having challenges, do let me know if they find a fix for you. Thank you!

@@JamesColborn Thanks James, I've sent the files and I had an issue of SW updates. I normally update when I see rhe secon couplet value change, while with AIM also the last digit of the version could be an important update. Now I know and I'll stay up to date. Will test on the next trackday.

Hi James, do you know if there is any way to link my gopro video files into the software so i can sync them with the data?
@JamesColborn

Hi! The software and system is only designed to work with SmartyCam files right now. I know this is a frequent request but nothing of yet. The only software I know of that can do this is Race Render I believe. Hope this helps.

I had a similiar question. I do notice the smartycam files are .mov type video. This is different from gopro, hece i cannot slect that video type in the aim software. I did have a $50 amazon generic camera that produced .mov files. I was able to select the file in the aim software. Where it broke is that the timestamp in the video and the aim data isn’t synced. If I could only find a way to sync the data and video (to the crossing of start/finish line), I think we’d be golden. @@JamesColborn In race render for adding the aim data to the video files my camera takes, this is exactly what we do. We just manually sync both. Works a charm. Now if I could manually sync it in the race analysis software, we might have something… if anyone discovers how to do this, please share. I’ll then immediately trade my gopro for something that records .mov files instead.

@@JamesColborn I understand the analysis was intended for Smartcam. Relies on some smartycam metadata, but if I clip the GoPro video to start at the same second as the data and then import THAT, wouldn't I be able to manually link data and video together as you showed?
