Given the absurd amount of class division, it could be an option for riot to make a scaled down version of Path of Exile pasive tree for each class, in the sense, an ability or class tree where, depending where you are from, you start in a different part of the tree and gives you easier access to what would be more thematic to your origin, but still not limiting you out from what that class might do in other places. Would be a hella lot of work, but i mean, they have a hella lot of work to do eitherway and they already have the lore so that part is semi covered

Actually, they could go with base classes that lead to region-specific second classes. Then use future expansions to introduce more second classes. Also the fact that people can randomly be born with a specific kind of magic regardless of where they are from (Lux-light, Annie-fire, Rell-metal, Taliyah-Earth) they could be a cool mage class option, there's also the region incentive ones like Elemental Magic in Ixtal, Earth/Sand bending in Shurima, Electric/Wind magic in Ionia. Being a something bender due to being born with magical ability regardless of where you are from is something that makes sense in this universe. Also technically the sentinels of light are located on multiple places of Runeterra if we go by the ruination event, so sentinels can also be in Piltover and other places.

I feel like a somewhat Guild Wars 2 character creation style could work for this game. Each GW2 race has their own starting area, and within that area the choices you make during creation shape your personal story until all of the "personal" stories merge into the main storyline towards the end of the base game. No stat differences between the actual races but the class you pick changes what armor and weapons you can use, and later class specializations add weapons each class can use. Per class, each weapon gives you 5 different skills and then you can choose 5 more skills depending on what spec trees you go down. There's so much more and I'm a pretty casual GW2 player, but I love the system compared to something like WoW. The personal stories that stem from your choices during creation have several branching paths that all end up back in the same place, but you still feel like your choices mean something. I also feel like this could work well for the whole class/origin issue you mentioned. Maybe depending on your starting location and class, you get access to different weapons which each have their own skills, although that could get a bit complicated with the sheer number of potential starting locations. (all I want is to either be able to play a Lunari right from the start or a cool ass vastaya, and if Riot can pull this off I'm anticipating the best character creator to ever exist)

I think it would be (kind of impractical but) really cool to make a class evolution system. Kinda like in ffxiv but more expansive. Like you can only pick from 6 basic classes when you start, but you can choose what you evolve the class into at a later point. Let's say you choose the Mage class to start. You reach a certain level or story event and you get a quest telling you to go find someone for further training. It then prompt you to go to one of multiple options, which option you choose would then determine what your class evolves into. Like if you go to Demacia as a mage you willingly get the magic sucked out of you or something, are given a special rock, and become a mageseeker, but if you to Ionia instead you become a Spirit Mage, and if you go to Piltover you become a Hextech/Chemtech Engineer.

I think that classes could be done in a way with the classes used in league of legends (assassin, marksman, mage, fighter, support) and based on your origin could have subclasses with different equipment associated with them. @autisonm

I think the sub class thing would be a bit too complicated and would mean that there are like 6+ different versions of assassins among other things. I think instead it would be interesting if you started as the "subclass" and you need to go to the other subclass area to become your main class. So for instance, you start as a Kinkou ninja subclass and you go to the Shadow Order subclass area to become an assassin. You could even go a bit further and allow players to mix and match kinda like how Ashes of Creation will in that say, you start as a Kinkou ninja but then you go to one of the tank subclass areas and learn that set of skills to allow you to mix them and essentially end up with something like Shen, a ninja that is a tank.
@jasonmiller2379

the only problem with having different subclasses depending on the origin is a bad balancing act [which given how League itself is balanced, you can see would be an issue] it would likely be easier to just have ninja as a separate class for the Ionia expansion [with Kinkou and Shadow Order sub classes]

There could always be "main" classes that you could eventually take a quest in certain regions to evolve into a specialization. I could see them doing the variations of each class like you said, with some minor "origin-locked" classes, they could also try to take inspiration from wow's talent specializations or you get access to a more advanced version of the class, i.e: you start as a rogue but eventually learn techniques from the kinkou once you hit a certain level. I could see the sentinels being their own "origin" in general as a sort of expansion, kinda like how WoW did with Demon Hunters in legion, and the different weapons would be the differeny specs you could choose from (sword, gun, etc). My MMO experience is around 5 hours of WoW (2 of which was downloading and installing it), so I'm not entirely sure how classes work. But here's how I hope they will. You can't pick your classes. Insead you're given a *massive* skill tree which *grows* when you complete certain quests. The skills you pick from said skill tree change your class dynamically and *locks* certain skills that would be incompatible with your class. So for example you could see a player that has "Frostguard Swordmaster" next to their name who wouldn't be able to learn sand magic but can still learn some arcane spells. And another example, if you've gone too deep the "Demacian Knight" route, all magic skills are locked but you gain access to more advanced/epic tehcniques as well as heavily increased magic resistance.

This sounds like a really cool idea for a single player RPG but not so much for an MMO. As they are going for the Holy Trinity and will have dungeons / raids in the game it just doesn't work. You could make a very fun, creative build but if it doesn't have the DPS/HPS/or Threat/Mitigation then you are putting a performance tax on everyone you group up with. By which I mean everyone else needs to perform to accommodate for having lower dps / hps / mitigation in the group. You can get around this by either: 1. Homogenizing all the options such that you end up around the same power level. This would kill a lot of the neat flavor and customizability while being a balance nightmare. 2. Making the content so trivial that any build is able to do it. This just makes the game boring and faceroll for everyone. Creativity and Customization in MMOs is less "Pick the tools you want to bring to the fight" and more "Here are the tools for your class. Find creative ways to use them to defeat encounters"

For example, if you chose two base classes and combined them, you would end up with some of the classes mentioned here. Someone who chose two of the same class, such as double assassin could well become a shadow assassin from ionia, a warrior who then chose a mage could become an ionian bladedancer, a mage who chose warlock/demonology as a second class could become a hemomancer, while a double warlock could become a void prophet, etc etc. Theres a lot to iron out as to how different areas could affect this, but it could be a cool idea to allow more options while still keeping a unique identity, without being crazily impossible to make all 50 or so different classes individually.

With the races, I agree till a point... they can do it like a subrace thing where you must complete some quest/dungeons or hidden caves randomly spawn on the map by the player choice to have different build and look ofcourse at some lvl thing stage(like touch by the void, robotic, celestial, sun disk, primal god/or three sister, black mist, demons/spirit blessings) ... and about the classes from my view is no classes ... you can achieve a class by putting points in different stats with different subclasses unlocked my quest and items( like in wow was with experience on using weapons) or something like frequency of using a skil (if I use like ice shard 15times in a fight and one time rock spike to go in posibily to evolve ice shard in ice ball/arrow with a high difference in damage and casting time) and where the you have the different classes of mages or magic users. With all that you can use all the different orders of the factions(light sentinels, lunari, god warriors, different ionians schools etc). I don’t know how hard is that to be done, but will be nice like that.

I kinda had the though, with how you spoke about sand trolls, that they may have been kept vague and out of sight on purpose, possibly so they can be explored in the MMO, possibly as a playable race.
@Diagala19

My ideas for the Races: It would be awesome to have some kind of questline, where you could ascend or become a darkin later on in the game. The issue with helmets and or boots can be overcome by either disabling the visuals for certain races or make special gear for them. I personally would love it, if there would be some kind of monster-like character to be played in the mmo. With the shurima expansion they could introduce the fusion race of people who merged with the void. Instead of leveling only your class you may evolve your race with some cool extra gimmicks. My ideas for the Classes: Imagine Riot's MMO has no typical classes. Instead of playing out classes like in normal MMO's, in Runeterra you get to choose a Path to follow. The Path determines which kind of skills you can learn and which Path specialized quest you can get, but you won't skill into your path normally. You will learn skills and abilities through your actions. Wanting to be a paladin? Work in demacia and follow the Aspect of Justice. Learn different Swordstyles? Go to each country and learn from the locals. You don't determine who you are only through your classname and your level, but through the path you walked to become who you wanted to be. Given that you could technically learn everything in the World of Runeterra with this system, you could limit the access to the skills by your Path or by a restricion to the number of skills that can be used at a time. One big pro of this method would be, that you can implement any kind of ability and identity that is possible in the game, but the con is that it would be harder to balance, since min-maxing is a lot easier with this method.

Darkin lore just doesn't make sense as a playable characters. THey are meant to be the bad guy. And their power also make doing contents really weird. Like why do i lose to this tiny void monsters when i am a freaking darkin. It just doesn't feel right
@Diagala19

Darkin would be late game character, which you can only obtain through either an darkin item (probably the highest rarity) or through ascending and then corrupting, which would be also lategame (probably level 80-90 out of 100). At that point of the game most void monsters (and maybe playable characters) would've probably gone through 4 or 5 adaptations to the world and thus be extremly powerful. And even other races could at that point become aspects or ascend, master a World Rune or make a pact with a celestial being and thus gain the ability to hold on against a darkin. Of course it would be hard to balance to give the special experience, but i don't think it is impossible to make
@dieptrieu6564

@@Diagala19 There's a lots of problem with this. First, darkin is special because they are rare. Seeing them running around just shattered that whole point. 2nd, they are too powerful, regardless of how high lv you are. You are still expected to play mortal like characters. Such godlike entities just doesn't make for a good comprehensive story. Unless you severely nerf them, which threw away the whole point of darkin being unstoppable. Furthermore, darkin are the weapons. Which also mean that on a lore standpoint, you shouldn't swap your weapons around which defeat the purpose of an RPG

Originally I listed like 4 different ideas for how the classes could work in this game but ultimately - I just want Riot to do something unique and creative with their MMO that will feel right within the world they've created. And if that meant having to start in a specific region to be able to play a class (for example having to start in Demacia to play a Mageseeker) that's fine by me.
@SouthernGuy5423
2 жыл бұрын
I kind of hope they simply don't do specific classes. I'd much prefer a more open approach to character creation, by basing each character on the archetypes from LoL - or something. Tanks, bruisers, support, ranged and melee dps would be perfect to define the base classes. Then choose magic or physical damage - ideally there would be a lot of characters that are hybrids, too. Then further refine it by choosing a regional specialization and a weapon specialization. Boom! Now you have your character! So, a character would be a magic tank from Ionia who fights unarmed and BANG! You have a mini-Udyr! Original version, not whatever garbage they've done to him recently. Physical bruiser from Mt. Hyjal with spear and shield and you have a Mantheon type character. The hard part will be making each choice significant and somewhat balanced.

@@FineSugarSwine Sure, where did I say otherwise? A warrior in the Ionian style could have grown up and trained there and then moved to Demacia - or their teacher could have, or w/e. Its a label for the style of combat. Demacian warriors are traditionally like medieval knights, while Ionians are more like Japanese samurai... and so on. On the other hand, I don't think that convenience absolutely has to trump everything else. RP reasoning is important, as well. it seems like a lot of people are caught up on how other MMOs work such as race and class selection being a thing before actually playing the game. I think it would be a cool idea for race selection and everyone is placed in a neutral tutorial esk zone and at the end of the 'tutorial' you're given the choice of which region you want to actually start in with each region having its own respective classes (demacia could have a mage-seeker class, freljord could have a spiritualist class like udyr etc.) I think this could give each region its own distinct feel as well as enhancing the region pride since each region would feel very different to play in (ofc standard warrior-type classes are universal but each region has its own flavouring like Ionia has fast high damaging warriors while noxus has slower tankier warriors). I think this system would make the Riot MMO stick out a lot more as its own MMO and would enhance the player experience

Something they could do is to make players starts as a basic generic class (fighter, wizard, rogue and so on), which gives you some core abilities, and then go through a questline to achieve a specific class. Something similar to Prestige class on some TTRPG or the advanced classes of the MMORPG Ragnarok. To ilustrate, you can start as fighter or gunslinger, your first levels would be as this class; upon achieving a specific level, you could enter a questline whithin a specific place and a unique npc to become a Sentinel of light. Instead of gaining more levels and abilities of the starting class, they now gain new levels of this new class, with unique abilities, but also have the starting class abilities.

I think best way to handle class diversity is to have basic class chasis shared by any of a particular type, and then add in regional factions whose questlines and reputation can grant access to class specific or universal flavor abilities, powers or skills. So all warriors have the same basic capacities but if you pick, say, Noxus to start, it'll be easier to obtain access to the Legionaire specific abilities or Noxian flavored techniques. Any warrior can unlock them if they do the questline, but they'll have to come to Noxus and put in the time and work. Maybe your selected region makes that region's abilities train faster, or gives you automatic access to most of them or something, with a few high level exceptions that are locked behind raids or whatever. So basic mage abilities, but selecting Noxus gives you blood magic spells. Yet any other mage that comes to Noxus later can also gain blood magic spells if they do the quests for the faction.

What i think would be very interesting are several skill trees where you can‘t have it all. Most mmo‘s i know are just leveling up and all classes unlocking their specific skills at their determined level. But what if your character would feel like a unique character? Where you start as a human for example and then choose to learn the art of swordsmanship and then progress there but after a while you decide you‘d like to travel to another place and train there something else like magic? So you only have so and so many talent/skill points and you can‘t have it all. Something like multi classes but shere every character choses his own path and creates his own story in this world while all the lore unfolds around you.

I'd say the classes are going to be somewhat like the class system from Rift. You pick a base class, Warrior, Cleric, Rogue, Mage, Primalist etc. then you choose from a pool of talent trees. How many you gain access to at once and how deep you can go into multiple ones at a time would very much be up in the air, in Right you could go fairly deep into more than 1 tree at a time, but I think mainly focusing on one with a tiny dip into others would suit the LoL world a bit better. This system was great, allowed for a lot of variety, and did make you feel pigeon holed into your base class like many MMOs.

It feels like most optimal way to create their classes would be something similar to Grim Dawn's build system. You choose a primary class and you get an option to add additional spells/perks from other class. In Riot case you could choose a primary class like "mage" and within it decide your primary and secondary subclass - for example "Arcane mage + Spirit mage". Or they could just copy ESO class system where classes actually can be built into anything you want. Mainly it depends on what weapon/staff you wield and what armour you wear. Of course some classes are better then others in specific roles but in ESO you can be a pretty good healer on "typical assassin class".

you know thinking about it again, they could do away with the IDea of classes in a traditional way, and have them turn into Roles, and have 4 roles , the Holy trinity Tank/DPS/Healer + CC( a dps or healer that dose les healing or DPS but keeps enemies from casting or helps with kiting by slowing them etc.) and have you pick one of those rolls after that you pick a tempalte and build up your class, having Talent points around the choices you've made, like you get a talent tree for the role , fallowed by a talent tree for the type of DPS (Ranged Physical or Ranged Magical)/tank/healer/CC, fallowed by one for the types of weapon you will use( staves and wands for casters, gun crossbows and bows for Marksmen etc). AND you can have the option to change templates as you please within the roles you chose at the start. IMO, the roles should be permanent, if you chose a TANK role you should not be able to choose a HEALER role on the same character, there odd to be some limitations, this would make you have to level a new character and experience a new starting area/race aesthetic or region.

I feel like instead of factions they could have backgrounds. Having your character be from Noxus or Ionia or Shurima, but you aren't bound to a specific faction that divides the playerbase. And you can still start playing the game in any starting area, even if you're not from there. Plus, they could even make the backgrounds cause class restrictions. If you want to be a Pirate, you've got to be from Bilgewater; witches from Noxus; Mystic or Ninja from Ionia; Shamans from Freljord; Inventors from Piltover and Zaun. And for the more generic classes like Warrior or Sharpshooter, they could have a specialization system where your background affects what you can become. Paladins with sword and shield would only be able to be from Demacia or Targon; Berzerkers from Noxus or Freljord; Blademasters from Ionia. Archers from Freljord, Snipers from Piltover, dual-wield pistols from Bilgewater. Heck, there could even be a class for fighting on a mount (like Rell, Sejuani, Nunu, and Kled). But then they could have a way to "sign up" for a region to fight on behalf of and to call your home, even if it's a different region than your background. And of course there's the races. Humans are everywhere of course, but others are more restrictive. Dragons are from Demacia. Ascended are from Shurima. Aspects are from Targon. Yordles are from Ionia, Bilgewater, and Bandle City. Specific Vastya are only in certain places. Predatory ones like Rengar being from Ixtal, water based ones like Nami being from Bilgewater, more human-looking ones like Sett and Ahri being from Ionia, etc. Heck, they could even let people play as demons (like Evelyn and Elise) or even Ruined spirits or people (like Kalista or Yorick) from the Shadow Isles.

what could be good about classes in the new riot mmo, is that we could have like "basic" classes at the beginning, and then the more we get into the game the more our classes can evolve letting us a choice on where we want to go: like, u start as a simple warrior, u start with an axe, or a huge sword or a katana etc etc depending on wich skills or maybe wich regions or maybe something else, ur class will elvolve into a new class, like if u start as a warrior that is based on fast attack and that u elvolve into the region of the Ionians, u could evolve into a blademaster! the other thing about this, is that (i'm not sure if its a good idea but u know) maybe we could also have legendary classes, a class that is very hard to get, but can be real worth like being a vuju blademaster or else.

Make each champion have a playable class follower(the players character). Each start region different depending on which champ they choose to follow for their class. At the start, only use a certain number of Champs, like 10-20. Release a new class along with a new champ to train under for each expansion. This would lock certain classes into their corresponding lore region as well as limit which race they pick depending on the races that exist in the region(region based, not faction based). After you follow the champion to learn your abilities, you either get separated from them or leave them after the starting zone. Then you can explore runetera with whatever class you want to play as while having champion pride based on league of legends. Which is what will make this game really take off. 22:00 That's nothing new because it's exactly how Clerics and Paladins work in vast majority of classic RPGs. Casting holy spells or using abilities like Lay on Hands is just the deity allowing them to be a vessel of their power. They have no magical abilities of their own, they're simply allowed to channel an outside force, which is what separates them from Wizards and the like. That's also how both Paladins and Shamans work in WoW, both of them are completely capable of losing that ability by angering the Light or the Elements whereas a mage will always be a mage, regardless of what he does with magic.

For the class system, they could make something like a class tree. For exemple, if you chose a rogue and are level, let's say 15, you can get a specialisation quest line with multiple options. You could go to an assassin guild in Noxus to be trained to become, well, an assassin and have more knife based attacks like Katarina's or Talon's. Or you could go to the kinkou to be taught their technics or the shadow order to get your shadow tatoos and become a shadow user. Or you could even go to Bilgewater (I don't know if pirate cut throats seems like a good evolution or what unique mimic it could give tho. Maybe gun or bomb skill ? Like put them in the pocket of the enemies ?) or Demacia to become a scout like Quinn and have a familiar. And yeah, I know this is a LOT of work but it should be doable for most of the classes to make them feel a little more unique and let the player more freedom. I also know that they are flaws in this view, for example, it would mean that the balancing would be hellish, and some classes, could be lock behind extensions and I think that people could be upset about this (I know I would at least).

My personal idea has always been to abandon classes entirely in exchange for origin, imagine for example, that you can do any quest in the world, and completing that quest gives you a skill or ability as a reward, but in order to use it you must be origin compatible and invest skill points that work like paper mario's badge points. This allows every player to invent their own class and build based off of the experiences their character has been through, only limited by certain region barriers that create an informal class, as it doesn't make sense for a damacian to learn ionian magic, or an ionian to use piltovian tech. You could even introduce multi-classing by allowing each character to go through a questline to engage in another region's culture, thus gaining access to their skill options.

As for each location having a different version of each class this could be done through equipment, dialogue, and titles. Maybe each place gives you some different skills unique to the starting area but you can travel to the other areas to get those later on.

Summoner as Demonologist, Voidsummoner (Bel'veth/Malzahar), and Architect (Or some other Name, anyways, Azir) They would be functionally closer than other classes, all three summoning minions, but the Architect summons environmental hazards like quicksand and soldiers/towers, the Voidsummoner has minions swarming the enemy, and the Demonologist summons one big guy and buffs it up to tank for it or deal increasing amounts of damage the longer it can be kept alive. Gunner, as a mercenary (Samira), Sniper (Caitlyn) or Pistolier (Lucian/Graves) Rogues, with Assassins (Kata/Talon), thieves (Sylas/Akshan), and maybe a ranged option? (Ninjas?) I forgot one. I don't remember, it came to me when thinking about Samira and Caitlyn. Something I missed. Anyways, you could always also just sort them by group of affiliation. For example, you have a Noxian Soldier class, with 3 totally different speccs: Assassin, Marauder and Bloodmage, or a Sentinel with Swordfighter, Gunner or mage. You could re-do the fighter and brawler classes and make more or less martial classes out of them comfortably, so I'm not sure where to go with this. Riot is really good in making up exceptional fighting styles that work. EDIT: Swordmasters. Samurai, Bastardsworduser, Ninja? Or make Ninja a rogue subclass?

I also think a lot of things are the same. Taric, Leona, Garen and many other champs centered around their holy paradigm are Paladins. It would be cool to have armor sets or even CLASS SKINS, that reflavor your abillities, make them visually different (maybe as armor set bonus? Maybe as a separate slot on your transmog?), so you can reorganize your origin. Not tied to your class, as I think a young freljordian could end up in Targon and become a Solari-champion, for example. They COULD. It'd be rare, but you want to give players personalized experiences.

I'd like to see love for the dark mage classes. I mean, I probably won't play them. I prefer classes with lots of counterplay, like hunter from PSO2. Yes, I AM aware of my name. Yes, it came from the fact I mained Morgana in S1. Yes, my name in League had the word Morgana in it. However, past S1, I mained Leona.

I feel like a prestige class/subclass type system could work. Where you start as warrior with basic abilities all warriors get but as you level up you get specialized abilities based on whether you are part if the Trifarian Legion or Freljordian Berserker for example.

A primary and secondary class system could deepen the Lore and solve the class problem. Another unique system would be to choose a spiritual magic path and a physical weapon path to evolve into a distinct class. This could also deepen the Origins of the Magic or "science" of the spiritual forces. As Hextech is a thing, magic seems to follow certain principles that can be controlled in different ways.

they may include half dragons as a race, or my favourite but least likely to be playable, voidbornes. I just love the corrupted lovecraftian horrors vibe.

What classes there will be is easy. Just look at Team Fight Tactics. Assassin, Bard, Bruiser, Cannoneer, Cavalier, Dragonmancer, Evoker, Guardian, Legend, Mage, Mystic, Shapeshifter, Spell Theif, Starcaller, Swiftshot, and Warrior. I doubt all of these will be the classes but this is a great list to consider. The races I feel is where it will be a challenge to have more then three or four at launch, but as you said the Vastaya have a lot of options to pull from.

I believe it would make the most sense to give it a WoW approach to classes while also staying true to the system *already* in place for league, one base class representing each of the main character classes (tank, mage, warrior, assassin and marksman) with subclasses representing each archetype (such as gunslinger or something similar for those who pick the marksman class with the intention of playing something related to Miss Fortune or Samira (Caitlyn could also *roughly* fit into this archetype)) other archetypes could easily be placed into the other classes as well, for the mages we have the classic high power mages like Xerath (they could be described as "blasters" or something similar) but this also gives room to enchanter subclasses within the mage group like Lulu, if riot really wanted to they could add the more niche character types like with Zilean's use of chronomancy but overall the idea is to stick to main 5 class types actually found within the MOBA itself and then filling in the blanks from there once character creation and the tutorial or whatever is actually completed

I think you should also include the voidborn, and kassadin and kaisa. The voidborn are completely different from everyone else, even other voidborn, kaisa has a void creature fused with her, and kassadin can use void energy
I think some of the class options you’d dismissed as too powerful could be prestige or advanced classes. Things you switch to later on in the game. This could also be a really good balance between classes being origin exclusive or not. You can start as a generic warrior anywhere but your advanced class depends on your origin. Although personally I’d prefer it if any class was available from anywhere, but to keep the story intact and to incentivize you to actually stick to the normal combos, there could be some lengthy or difficult quest I’d you were learning skills from outside your origin, and there could be specific enemy factions who can’t. So a blade master or warrior from Ionia can automatically become a wuju blade master at higher levels, someone from a neutral region would have to earn the trust of the Wuju experts through some tough quest, and Noxius warriors could be the only ones who can’t even get the quest to unlock Wuju.

Something they could do in terms of story is the Dragon age origins where you can choose a class and origin and that would be your starting story.

I kind of think that the SWTOR approach to classes might work better. Something where you choose a base class (warrior, assassin, mage, archer, gunslinger, marksman, etc.) that branches into the more advanced stuff, but through questlines instead of just "you hit X level, pick a specialization."

i feel like a system like in nostale (dont ask me) would be cool where u can play a class and later on unlock "special cards" which makes it possible to play a new form of the class with new skills and optic. so they could use the typical classes and slowly add all these kinds of special forms of them. like when u star as a warrior in noxus u start in this form and when you complete some quest in demacia u unlock the demacian form of the warrior and so on. this would make every addon even more diserable

Okay hear me out, Sharima should be the start of the MMO; The Xerath Azir War for Sharima is a good early threat, not just local not quite world ending and massively connected to the Void the overall threat, start building to it from the start of the game a strong through line it starts in Sharima and takes you around the world with the void being there from the start. A good later expansion in the Ascended vs Darkin, Icathia as an introduction to the void, connected to Piltover and zaun. It has a strong connection to Targon in the celestials gift of the sun disk.

As an Ornn main, and a fan of anything dwarf and norse related, i would love if riot somehow made it so that some of ornn follower's, the hearthblood, are still alive somewhere in freljord and they'd be a playable class. Imagine warriors wielding hammers turning ground into lava and shouting fire. headbutting someone with demigod horns would also be nice-
