I agree. He's a good ass coach... how many Finals has he taken is team too? None. Everyone, especially the media, are elevating him to some superior coach. Push the brakes on that... Let him get the Finals first before giving him all this high praise.... Thats all I'm saying/. You need stars to win, yes, but if he's so great, his system should propel the Celtics to the Finals

Why are so many people saying Celtics are experienced, playoff-tested just because they're Celtics, and 76ers are young, inexperienced. In comparison, Celtics only had Al Horford who is a true experienced playoff player, and maybe Baynes if you count his less than 10 minute per game experiences with Spurs. 76ers have Redick, Bellineli who is a regular playoff rotation player in a championship team, Amir Johnson who had playoff experience with three different teams other than 76ers and was with Celtics last season, and Bayless and Ilyasova all with 30+ games in playoffs compared to Smart and Rozier being the Celtics' 3rd most playoff experienced in playoffs with 30.

Seriously Brad Stevens should be the highest paid coach in NBA right now. No other coach is able to take that roster and achieve what he done. Seriously he is a superstar HOF coach in the making. If you're a owner of a franchise now you will put Brad Stevens ahead of any superstar player you can recruit. This guy is a genius, he definitely is doing something that no other NBA coach is doing in terms of preparation, player development and gameplan.
@dred9174

Yeah allstar Al Horford, a potential superstar in Jason Tatum, Terry Rozier looks like he's a solid 3pt shooter. Marcus Morris would be a 6th man on half the teams and that's without Jaylen Brown who should be back in this series is a potential superstar as well you're dreaming if you think he has nothing to work with.
@eddyhsu1978
6 жыл бұрын
dre d I am not saying you are wrong but they key is the only player who actually played in an all star game on the celtics is Al horford, kyrie and Gordon Hayward. Other guys like tatum and rozier etc. you are conveniently basing your argument in the words potential superstars. They are not superstars yet. Tatum is a rookie a bloody good one at that. Rozier is a backup PG for 2 season, is playing big minutes and leading role in Brad Steven's system. Morris is a stretch 4 and role player at best. Jalen Brown is a defensive wing without a consistent jump shot thriving in Steven's system. Marcus Smart before Brad Stevens many said he was a bust. Isaiah Thomas was a bona-fide MVP canadate under Stevens. Look at Aaron Baynes he is thriving in the system. Coaching in the NBA is underrated. And star player's role in NBA is overrated. Talent can only take you so far. But to have the coaching gameplan, discipline, health and development is so underrated in terms of having sustained success in the NBA. The only superstar plauer that have a proven record of sustainable success without a good system is LeBron. Other than that exception no other player is good enough without a good coach. Look at GWS before and after Kerr. Spurs, pistons, mavs are the only ones to win without LeBron. Why? Great coaching that utilise the talent of their roster perfectly.

Let's not celebrate so soon on Celtics winning it as Sixers were rusty & they were not really for a top defensive & well coached team like Celtics, who just won a bar fight. The Sixers missed a lot of open shots & they outrebounded the C's which were clearly concerns for Stevens.

Brad Stevens HAS to win Coach Of The Year after what Boston has gone through from Game 1 of Gordon Hayward till now. It does not make sense how they play hard each and every game from player 1-12. They better not give it to Mike Dantoni because he basically has his old Phoenix Suns team in Rockets uniform. A team with like 8 players that can shoot 3s. No disrespect to James Harden who is the unanimous MVP but Brad Stevens IS COTY!!!

There are way too many commenters who seem to be way too lonely. We get it. You like Rachel Nichols. I’m sure she appreciates you drooling over her instead of praising her skills as a broadcaster. The funny thing is I was about to comment about how I like this FAR better than the TNT ones with Shaq and company that are mostly fluff and the yelling/bravado matches with Steven A. Smith that are just a conduit to create some sort of controversy. I like these guys because they worry far less about entertaining and more about giving you information. I appreciate the substance over style, which apparently a lot of guys around here don’t understand.
