This professor seems to be doing a great job of tough conversations. Well done. I think the idea that you can get further if you believe you can get further is correct. If you’ve been told, and you believe, you can’t do it then odds are you can’t.

A strong family structure (nuclear family) more than anything else has been shown to help in growth of wealth, less crime participation, even better grades. The reverse is also true. No Father and or Mother results in more criminal activity, less money gained throughout your life, and poorer grades. When 90% of people in jail had non-nuclear families growing up either the cops are selectively picking on people that have non nuclear families or it contributes to your inability to to have inhibitions./acting criminally

Simply because most whi ppl have strong nuclear families. Whi ppl are just smarter and invent more technology. Why overcomplicate it? Guilt?

The difference between ethnicities within the "white" category is larger than the black-white gap. For example the wealth gap between Russian Americans and French Americans is larger than the black-white gap.

Overcompensating for physical disadvantages. Everything’s a mating strategy. Some people have charm, some have looks, some have money. Bezos wasn’t gonna get the girl by being charming or physically attractive. Some cultures have arranged marriages, some have single parent households. You shouldn’t want to be Bezos if you believe what he sacrificed to get there wasn’t worth it, community is more important, having a soul. Imagine all the pollution/climate impact Amazon’s (the company) responsible for.

I was surprised to hear this professor refer to Maggie's relatives not picking wealth as "bad decisions". He explains sociology is studying the external factors that influence how people decide. He seems unaware that his society causes his wealth is good mindset. I'm sure if he lived in another society, he would have the community is good mindset.

Nice job showing the racial income gap chart right at the start, when the chart groups asians and whites together. Asians are the highest earning demographic in the states. This is an unarguable fact.

Grouping together "asia" is also inaccurate. There are more than one racial group in asia.

If you took unbias REAL data.... every single test shows how afrcn dna is sbhnm..... and thats why we group "asia" as one

I would absolutely love to have a conversation with this professor. These kids are lucky to have him teaching them. It is rare to find a professor that will allow and foster these types of conversations.

Just say Latinos! The term “Hispanic” is confusing and it never used in countries south of the border to refer to people.

This professor said the racial wealth gap is getting smaller. I would like to see a source for this. The evidence I have seen is that the gap is flat since the war on racial oppression started in the 70s. Attempts at equity have failed.

Instead of focusing on race you should be focusing on class. That would be useful. It's not useful to assume you know something about someone's family by their skin color. Like assuming some people are responsible for their outcomes and others are not based on skin color.
