You both are just so cute!! I found your site after you paddled the Mississippi. Now I am catching up on your ADT. I’m living vicariously through your adventures. I had knee replacement this last February, and whereas it is great and given me mobility back, I don’t think I could walk 20+ miles a day. Oh, and the spiders would freak me out. But I do hope to do a little tent camping this fall, after the cold knocks the spiders out. Looking forward to Matt going up in the mountains.

Th trees with the pink flowers are Mimosa. They’re technically invasive but, I don’t remember life without them and I’m almost 60yrs old. It just wouldn’t be summer in East Tennessee without those pink blooms. Birds and pollinators absolutely love them.

11:10 when i was a kid in the 80's they used to allow you to walk out over the Lock - Dam in Newburgh. You walked on the gate that was the western exit. I'm born in 1979.

The trees with pretty pink flowers are mimosa trees, and unfortunately they're pretty bad invasives. Pretty, but harmful. But the milkweed with a tiger swallowtail butterfly was great.

I grew up in Newburgh and I live in Evansville. That little Newburgh Subdivision you guys walked past with the brick walls is my childhood home and it warmed my heart a little bit to see that I aparently grew up right next to this discovery trail. My husband was very happy to see me get so excited for like... 20 uninterupted seconds.

Funny thing, my ex girlfriend lives adjacent to that hotel. She was forced to watch a lot of FCOTMH, she adored taters, but was a little annoyed by Matt. Really sorry I missed you coming through, but was very happy to give you guys the support I was able to. It's been fun seeing you guys in very familiar territory.

You definitely have me “hooked” to do a paddle of the Ohio river next spring. Your footage really brought back a lot of fond memories of paddling( that is,except the Missouri, still experiencing PDSD about that one😂) I think you guys are going to enjoy the KATY Trail, which I’ve bicycled about a dozen times. All FLAT! ( Which you know is true expressed by a cyclist and hiker!) Have fun and stay safe!

I'll preface this by saying I'm 63 yrs. old, and I haven't hiked a pack since I was in the military in my early 20's, but I started this past week. Jen, I absolutely feel your hip flexors and that muscle that runs from the inside of your ankle and up your lower shin. Twenty-eight miles is very impressive for somebody who says they're "out of shape."

Ms Taters, I am amazed with your fortitude. I work full time, and if I had to finish up a big project (school year), fly halfway across the country and then hike 28 miles I would be hospitalized! I hope you have a great summer hike.

Keep it on .
