As a young Canadian I was on the start of a year long bicycle trip beginning in Western Samoa and then Savaii for two months then NZ and Australia , way back in 1993 and my impression is fond , memorable and happy. Hospitable and friendly islanders living in near third world conditions. No way to deal with westernization and poor hygienic conditions. This is such a great capture of the improvements for the Samoan people . Everything happens in Samoan time. I would love to go back again but I would skip Apia and head straight to Savaii. I truly miss palusami with taro from the old market with lady finger bananas for lunch . Talofa sofua from Canada .

"over a quarter of a million pacific Islanders call New Zealand home." oOoOO that made me grimace. I liked the film! Just a wild statistic to start with.
