Explains three types of radioactive decay including alpha, beta and gamma decay. Also includes worked examples for each type of decay. During alpha decay the nucleus emits an alpha particle which is the equivalent of a helium nucleus, during beta decay the nucleus emits an electron which is the beta particle and during gamma decay the nucleus emits a gamma ray which is a high energy photon.
