I've had mine for a few months and I tell anyone who listen that they should get a Rad Mini step-thru 2. I've even convinced one of my coworkers to buy one. I also trained my dog to run on either the "right" or "left" side of the bike and now I can actually tire him out, it's been really great.

We purchased a pair of Minis less than a month ago. They are great! My wife has put over 300km on her step-through while I (the slug in the family) have only hit 170km on my Mini 4. The folding up into a tote was one of the reasons we opted for these bikes. While we live in a house we do plan to spend more time on the road so folding and compact are big factors for us. We picked up a couple of Craftsman 50 gallon totes from Lowes in the US for our bikes. The tote keeps everything contained and makes lifting them into the back of a truck so much easier. The nice thing about the Craftsman totes are the wheels... so much easier to move around in a hotel, RV, back of truck etc.

We love ours! Less than a month old and no complaints at all. Highly recommend the totes for storage and moving the bikes when folded. We opted for Craftsman 50gal totes from Lowes in the US. The wheels make maneuvering the totes so much easier!

Ha! You know it's funny because we always viewed our first RadWagon as our best purchase ever. And we aren't people who usually get too excited about "things". I guess that's why this channel now exists.

Yup, we are RVers and used to carry full sized Pedego's which we loved but now carry 2 Rad Mini's and have really enjoyed them. In fact I am about to turn 1000 miles on mine with very few issues.

We’ve had a couple for a couple years now, here’s what you need to know. The tire issue is all about the tubes. The fat tubes are simply too hard to find for how often you’ll need to replace them. Rad has plenty of tires and will get them to you quick, but everyone’s always out of the tubes. The ability to move the handles is really nice actually. I always adjust the seat in the middle of longer rides to change the ergonomics to get a fresh part of my rear end and then you’ll appreciate being able to slightly turn the handles to match the new angle. They’re not loose or anything, they’re perfect. A bar end mirror is also a must. If you fold the pedals a lot it will eventually strip the threads out of the arms and you’ll have to order new ones from Rad. The step thru feels a lot less solid than the full frame mini, for obvious reasons. I would only recommend a step through for folks under 150lbs. The sturdier mini or a bigger step thru is needed for anyone bigger or any rougher riding. Remember these are rugged-ish pedal bikes, you will pedal them 99% of the time, and you’ll take ALL of the shortcuts that the tires and front suspension afford you…then once you’re in the middle of a bumpy situation on the step through you’ll remember you have a sketchy frame. The throttle is really only used to go from a dead stop to assist you with that tough first pedal push to quickly cross a road. Overall the value is INSANE. If you’re considering it, do it. I promise you’ll be able to put it together. The only reason to go in any different direction than Rad would be if you want a pure electric moped in which case you’d get something like a super73 where the pedals are basically legal decoration.

In that case, would you recommend the high step over the step-thru for anyone who doesn't strictly need the accessibility of the step-thru and wants to ride off-road some? The battery and water bottle locations of the step-thru seem really nice, plus the general convenience, but I suppose that wouldn't really be worth it if you're losing a lot of performance/stability.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I guess worst case you could get 20x4" tires since those tubes should be readily available.

Good review. I have watched many of yours and i like the ability to direct compare the SAME route for different bikes. One point of constructive criticism, we like to see the bike… not your hand moving in the frame. Keep up the great work!!!

thank you for your video. I have the Rad Mini 2 and I love it. I have multiple sclerosis with severe weakness in my left leg and riding a conventional manual powered bike is impossible for me. The electric bike allows me to launch, get momentum to stabilize my balance and then I can pedal. The fat tires help immensely with balance and the step thru is an absolute must. The smaller size frame is ideal as I can also dismount by standing on the ground and pushing the bike forward which is beneficial since I have balance issues. I'll be taking it with me on my road trip to Texas and researched ebike insurance for peace of mind should it get stolen. I recommend anyone that totes their bike around on excursions to check into ebike insurance. It is relatively cheap, ranging from $9 - $25 a month based on the coverages you select. Again, thank you for your review, I'm a huge fan. PS where in Florida were you riding? because I live in Tampa and that trail looks amazing.

How does this compare to the Expand? I'm wondering if the expand was truly the downgrade everyone cried about and if a used step through is a better buy.

This is quite a good price for what you get, a similar Veego semi fat costs the same and only has a 350W motor and 36 volt system, based just on that, I think this is a much better choice. That Veego used to sell for under a grand, but they raised the price way too high for what you get.

I'm really hesitated between that model, RadRhino 6 Plus Step-Thru and NCM Milano Plus Electric Trekking Bike, 250W, Battery 48V 16Ah 768Wh. The reason of buying electric bike is to work in food delivery. Anyone has experience can help me to choose a good one 🙂

First, decide if you want a fat tire ebike or a commuter/city bike. Then go from there - if you want to extend range and be efficient in the city fat tires would not be my first choice.
