I prefer how Roger plays/looks on court when playing well. People don’t realize that the big 3 dominated the tennis sport for more than 15 years continuously. I believe we need many many more decades to finally recognise, and really recognise what an insane achievement this domination was. And it still holds on to today. I cannot believe it truly either. Nadal completely destroyed another next gen player in the final. Djoker will most likely win Wimbledon and it looks like djoker and nadal will be the favourites for US Open win. Insane

@@shanerg77 I beg to differ, I think Roger was more of an "asshole", esp during the period where he was chasing to break Samprass' GS record. Even worst than Djokovic, somehow. He would snap at tennis reporter, belittle his opponents, and often speak arrogantly. I noticed that he started to soften up once Rafa started to challenge his dominance in 2008. On the other hand, Rafa is Rafa. The only thing that has changed since he came on tour 2 decades ago is that he is no longer shy as he used to.

The synonym for transcendence is Rafa. Just to be clear that transcendence is not in the category of superlatives. Transcendence is the dissolution of thought that attempts to describe. It is prior to and beyond every description. Rafa is not superhuman. On the contrary, he is fully human - he fully embraces suffering, he fully breathes self-doubt, he fully respects each and every player, each and every human being across the planet, he fully respects every tennis 🎾 racquet if he's not smashed a single one, he fully loves Real Madrid, he fully respects Roger and Novak, he fully loves humanity. Transcendence when lived is humility, humility, humility. Rafa!

He is a shining star in this not so bright world at the moment. I know I shouldn’t think like this and I know Rafa won’t, but wouldn’t it be a fitting tribute if he could go on and win Wimbledon and us open and get the overall grand slam 4 surfaces? That’s too far in the future but….. he is so humble and a great guy. If everyone would be like Rafa the world would be a much better place. Of course any one can do it if you get injection. Definitely Nadass is the Lance Armstrong of tennis. He is always got injured but miraculously he is perfectly healthy for the clay season. Tennis is an eleven months sport. He faked injury so he can have advantage over other players. He is a sheep dressed up as a goat. A doper a cheater turns tennis into a wrestling match.☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

@@alrichjacobs59 What does it mean sportsmanship?! that Novak is missing?-Everything you mention as qualities for Nadal: Skill, Competivness, Drive, Inspiration, Class and an example fro others?!- Novak already has it and plus is a polyglot, humanist/altruist/ donor, who has given Millions of $ to the people and countries all over the world!-Even, for Nadal now, after wining 22nd GS, if you are objective and honest- should a bit discus the open problem- how he won the 14th RG with the enormous number of pain killing injections?! into the nerve of his leg, just to fight for the title!-Is it the example that should young generation of Sportsmen/tennis players and in general all youngsters follow?!-having pain killing injections!!! into the legs/bodies?! just to be heroes/winners of the "Trophies"?!, as they are robots!?-And why the cyclists are not allowed to have those injections?, but Rafa has a "privilege"!?

Truly fortunate to have witnessed such an amazing tennis player in my life, a genuine person with great life values and has without doubt inspired so many tennis players, sportsman and regular folk. It's rare to find people who can achieve so much in their life yet keep true to themselves. Even if Novak does exceed Rafas GS's he will never have the inner happiness and respect that people have for Rafa and Roger. If Rafa can keep going we are extremely lucky, if he doesn't.. then we are still lucky to have many years of KZitem to look back on. 🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾...tbc

Roger & Rafa made each other. It was the best era, in the History of the sport. Novak is a very kind, happy person. I live in Europe and have seen them many times at Opens, practice courts etc. They all get along and grew up together. They spend more time together than they do with their owm families. Vamos Rafa!

Great interview. Precise and non leading questions. I'm glad Rafa was not politically correct on the women vs men matches question. In the past too, he's stood for giving each side their due based on merit, rather than equality just for namesake. About the man himself, there's nothing left to say that hasn't been said before. Rafa is a modern day Hercules. The day he retires, Tennis will be poorer and we all will realise how incredibly rare sportspersons like him are. Future generations will stand in awe of the glittering legacy this man left behind.

YOU CAME BACK AND REGAINED YOUR FORTRESS | WITH ONE GOOD FOOT AND NO EXCUSES | AND NOW THE WORLD SINGS YOUR NAME I think the story of how Rafa Nadal won the 22nd Grand slam title with an injured foot is not told enough. This 14th title at Roland-Garros at the age of 36 is mind-boggling, playing with an injured foot(left foot made numb before each match using anesthesia the whole tournament) and defeating a rested, healthy, and ready Djokovic, Next Gen FAA, and prime Sasha (Rafa was leading before the unfortunate injury) make it spectacular beyond words - on the top of The greatest achievements in sports history.

Nadal's combination of otherworldly talent/achievements, charisma, humility and class will be very hard, if not impossible, to happen again. I was a Federer fan (still am, but Nadal comes first😀) until I saw Nadal play and, even more importantly, saw how he carried himself on court and in interviews/press conferences. He was a very intriguing combination of a fierce, supremely talented fighter on court and a self-effacing, soft-spoken and thoughtful guy off of it. Even with his limited english you could tell he was wise beyond his years and he never put a word wrong, which is exceedingly rare for a very young man like he was at the time. Over the years and as he collected accolades and trophies, he remained exactly the same with zero signs that any of his unprecedented success got to his head. This, more than anything else, is what's so unique about Nadal; a guy who some justifiably consider the best athlete in any sport, let alone tennis, yet who genuinely thinks of himself as 'normal' and, therefore, believes anyone else can do what he did! It was a privilege watching Nadal on and off the court over the years, and I do hope he'll find a way to deal with his foot injury so that we continue to watch him for more years still, fingers crossed.
