I don't have any knowledge of classical music..and never had any interest in it. But now listening to some of such music I think I have been missing a lot. It is peaceful. Lovely!

Ms. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande's Raga Ahir Bhairav is indeed music for the Gods, as it is pure, soulful & unadulterated. She happens to be the daughter of Smt. Manik Bhide & niece of Smt. Sarla Bhide both being veterans of the Jaipur Ataruali Gharana. The speciality of their Gayaki happen to be I) Hardly or no sargam in their singing 2) All their bandishes ( vilambit / dhrut) are set to Teen Tal. Contrast her singing in Jasrangi pairing herself with the doyen of Mewati Gharana Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar where Ashwiniji has moulded her traditional gayaki with that of Mewati Gharana to make Jasrangi Jugalbandi very popular, attractive melodious & easy on the ear especially for those who are new to hearing & appreciating Indian Classical Music. Congratulations & Kudos to you Ashwiniji, may God Almighty Bless you in all your endeavours. Dr. Dilip S. Naik, E.N.T. Surgeon, Mumbai.

Dilip Naik Sir, the bandishes in the Jaipur atrauli tradition are mostly set to teen taal but they give equal importance to all the other taals as well and Ashwini ji herself sings bandishes set to so many different taals such as Jhaptaal, Roopak etc.....
4 жыл бұрын
'all the bandishes are set to teen tal' - I agree that most of the finest Jaipur-Atrauli bandishes are. But there's more going on here too - I interviewed Ashwini-ji recently, and she said the following: "My gurus said that “no bandish [melodic composition] will ever tell you the tala”, and for me it is not as important as the raga. He used to convert bandishes in rupak to tintal [7 to 16 beats], and vilambit to drut [slow to fast] - you can find their core character through testing them in these different settings." www.darbar.org/article/dr-ashwini-bhide-deshpande-interview/23

Such a melodious voice - and what a wonderful rendition of Ahir Bhairav. Ashwini-ji takes her time in slowly opening the notes of the raga - its like the sun is slowly coming up in the sky and the darkness of the night is gradually dissolving with the early morning rays. I can hear the "sadhana" in her voice.

One has to have infinite patience to listen to HINDUSTANI MUSIC....much as it drags along in a monotone, rarely taking digressions......i feel strongly that HINDUSTANI MUSIC is a medley of out-streached tunes that often go tangentially.....all RAGAS seem to be more or less the same sonorous drags.....PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME Devlina.

Outstanding performance. Beautifully restrained, paced, and subtle, perfectly evocative of the deeply spiritual mystery, and slowly awakening mood of Ahir Bhairav -- a rag which lingers longingly with us in the last poignant moments of deepest night, transiting through the slow awakening of early dawn, to the first brilliant rays of the sun as it pierces the dawn horizon. Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful performance. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. This is the real thing when it comes to fine classical Hindustani music. A total thrill to hear this. 🌄🙏

The deep, poignant and soulful nature of Raag Ahir Bhairavi is reinforced by the rich melodious voice and innate emotional and spiritual intelligence of Ashwini Tai. Unknowingly your heart wells up and tears flow. So representative of the eternal tapasvi Shiva. Sheer spiritual bliss.

Just a quick note. It is not Bhairavi. It is Bharav. Different base raga. But I agree it is soulful rendition and represents the energy of Shiva.

This. It cuts your heart and let you bleed till the last drop and then and then licks the blood from the floor and pours into you through your ears, slowly caressing your soul, asking you that it is alright to live without blood, i can fill your heart with music and sacred swaras. come here, my sad little child. there is dust on your heart, let me repeat these swaras, and clean it. When things get out of hand, i have the " sam" for you. don't lose hope. Close your eyes. your heart is beating fast. i'll bring tempo to your heart's dance. close your eyes. dream. it is alright to dream. sit on this raaga's rath and fly. There are clouds. lucky people are dancing in the rain but here you are, sitting in the clouds, seeing people getting wet in the rain, they need rain to get wet because they don't have their lovers.. so they make songs in rain, telling themselves that love exists. Some hide themselves in blankets and masturbate but then once they are done, the void gets back at them and laugh like an ugly witch. it gets closer. it disappears for a while but it returns with a bigger dagger. you don't to worry. Listen to the alaap. it is not some typical technical pre-recorded music. No my dear, it is improvised, like an ideal life which needs to be improvised rather than lived in close few marla prisons and a desk with hammering laptop. I'll sing to you and tell you that it's alright to improvise. The basic is the same and it's as older than Panini's grammar. It's older than ashoka. Swara existed long before language. When you listen to it, it pushes you away from the language, it pushes you back to your essence. Swaras that existed in a baby's first cry once he was born in to this world, the poor child needed music to express himself, in a beloved's satiated moan and the bed that moved in tempo with the body. It existed in the sound of the mother who calms and prepares her child to piss in the shadow of a tree. It was in fire and we danced around it. Listen to me, the want of yourself to be listened by you will be satisfied. The end is far as long as you listen to it. End is a product of time, but i sing and time disappears and the villain of " end" hides. only sur remains and trance which will kill you so that you can live for a while.. I am here. i will always be here. adilyousaf892@gmail.com
