Jhinjhoti is a Hindustani classical raga from the Khamaj Thaat. This is a light and playful Raga, apt for instrumental music. In this Raga mostly light mood bandishes (compositions) are rendered. This Raga is mostly expanded in Madhya and Mandra Octaves. The nearest Raga is Khambavati.
Jhinjhoti is regarded as a light raga (Bhatkhande). Nevertheless it is practiced in both dhrupad and khayal tradition by vocalists as well instrumentalists. Furthermore, the raga is commonly used in semi-classical genres of tappa and thumri.
