The Attitash slides have a design flaw, after that first turn, it gets very flat, making it easy to stall out if you didn't get a fast enough run up. One stalled person can quickly lead to a whole line of stalls as they try to hand push to get through the flat and get running again. The Bromley slides are a bit better in this regard. (Bromley also has a third track that takes a different line than the other two.)

I,ve been on this very slide at Attitash in New Hampshire and there was this one kid who I think was missing some chromosomes becaause he held the break the whole way down. (I was with my stepsister and brother, my stepsis went first and bro was behind me all on the same track.) I came zipping around a corner with my fucking warp drives on and slammed in to the back of a train of like 15 people. My cart slid under my stepsis's cart. It destroyed my knee. Then comes my brother max speed slams into me. bloody nose for him as he went over the rail and into the rocks. A toddler comes around the corner and presses the bar down on the corner she flies over the edge and into the rocks. Kid is bleeding and her dad stops behind bro and goes to her aid. Guy on opposite track stops stupidly and asks if he needs help. Two kids smash into him. Everyone is either cussing the slow child out or crying. I feel repeated nudges as people keep slamming into the back of the evergrowing train. Employees come up and remove the crying kid forcefully from the track. Moral of the story if you dont know how to ride the fucking ride don't fuck everyone's day up please. P.S. I think that may have actually been the kid who cause this. We were there in the summer for my dads birthday and I remember the kid was wearing a white shirt.

As an 8 year old back in 87 i was concluding my reality on things like He-Man and Voltron. So when my dad took me and my older brother on a slide like this, i of course didn't comprehend real world physics at all. Didn't help that i misunderstood the instructions and i thought pushing down the handle was breaking.... By the time i hit the second turn i was going so fast, i just flew off the slide, my sled smashed into a pine tree, i landed in the grasslands. I just remember looking to my left, and seeing a big cow shit there, i made a uhhh gross-face as i stood up and look back at my dad coming down the slope after me, seeing me off the rails, my sled all bent out of shape next to a huge tree. Only now i know what his facial expression ment: omfg, how will i tell this to my wife. lol.

I've never been to this slide before, but I think I get it: If you don't build up enough speed at that area...you don't have enough momentum to make it past that flat area...which is why those girls were sitting there stopped. Notice how everybody was using their hands to move along. Either that OR, they weren't strong enough to push the lever down far enough to make the coaster run without resistance. In my experience...when you push the lever forward all the way...it's pretty much running totally on the wheels. I don't think these kids knew how it works.

I did the one at Great Adventure in NJ 40 years ago. A bunch of friends going full speed . It was actually scary because you could tell you could easily lose your balance coming out of a turn, and you might well fly off the track. I think all but one of us got burns from scrapping the concrete. But boy, what a frill. Above a certain speed, braking in a turn was actually dangerous as the sled would start to swing left and right, so best not to brake and hope for the best.

I remember this but mine was in Georgia or Tennessee. The last time I rode it was when I was 8 years old in 1989 I rode it every year with my daddy (God I miss him) THat year they told me and my dad I was to old to ride with him and I cried. I started to get scared because While I love the ride I didn't have good hand eye coordination and was afraid I'd fall off the edge and get hurt. The person relented and I was able to ride with my daddy. I once rode it with my mom a few years earlier but she was to slow on it. I wanted to go fast. So, after that I continued to ride with my daddy. Then when I was 9 I was set to ride it by myself and they closed it. Turned out last year was it's last run. So, I did the hang glide thing for the first time and loved it. (After I begged my mom to let me do it and promised her that I would be safe and listen to what the instructor says. That was easy because the glider was attached to a rope so I didn't need to be coordinated to fly it. I just had to remember to land on my legs and run. I forgot that and went on my knee and let the wheels on the glider handle take me to a stop lol. (Why did it have wheels if I wasn't supposed to do that? lol was what my nine year old mind thought.)

There was an alpine slide at an Amusement Park here in Jersey called Action Park. It literally hurt so many people who fell off, got hit by another sled on the track or were thrown from it. I hear though it was the best ride at the park lol

These alpine type coasters are meant for people who enjoy speed and excitement, they are not cheap to ride on so one would like to enjoy their ride to the full / maximum potential, but when you come up behind someone who for whatever reason is riding down with the brakes full on causing a backlog for everyone else 👿🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 well this go slow behaviour is just not acceptable and A, the offending person/s should be tossed off ( over the side of the slide that is ) and B,they should be made to pay for the spoilt enjoyment of the over riders/users so they can have another go and C, a note should be taken of there name and a photo of there face and then distributed to all other alpine coaster slides banning these slow spoil the fun individuals from all types of entertainment were speed is the main reason for going on..I have come up behind these type of slow coaches a few times on alpine type slides and it is so annoying it makes one spit feathers!!!!🤬🤬🤬👍
