And what can you say about the great Robert DeNiro? Amazing actors. This is by far one of the greatest movies of all time. Great scene, as are they all in this amazing film. The best one for me though was when Jake explains to his brother how upset he is about his hands. How theyre too small, how his body isn't built to be able to fight Joe Louis. No matter what he does, how good he is, how much effort he puts in, Jake can never go up against 'the best there is' (as Jake refers to Louis) because of something out of his control. I think this is true source of the bulls rage and where all Jakes insecurities stem from.

+Kirk Landau Jake consistently saw himself being made a victim by others. It's pretty evident he had deep seeded feelings of guilt and inferiority most likely due to his past and upbringing. Also, he saw Louis as the "best there is" over Robinson because Louis was the world heavyweight champion at that time and LaMotta was above all else obsessed with becoming world champion.

Well I knew Jake had a brother named Joey, so they combined Peter and Joey to make you think he lost everything when he beat his brother up.

Taxi Driver and Raging Bull are my favorite Scorsese films. They are phenomenal in every way that makes a film the very best.

You can see in Joey's eyes he lying about why he beat up Salvy, which Jake can instantly sense. It was a mistake to refuse to answer the question about fucking Jakes wife. Coupled with Vickie's "I fucked everybody" sarcastic response when she was asked, it was too much for Jake's paranoia. De Niro was a scary guy in this movie.

Actually in the last scene of Godfather part 2, when Michael is remembering his dad's birthday when he told everyone he was joining the army, he is obviously missing how his family used to be, thus he is upset with the outcome. This scene shows his regret and how he wants to change. That is hope to me.

Actually after reading the book by Jake, Joey was not fictional, he was there, but every thing Peter (Pete) does, is Jake.
