Accurate collection of the comforts as well as the trials of dinghy cruising. Thanks, Roger, for taking the time to not only record your travels, trials, and tribulations, but also for putting the time in to edit in a way that makes the trip entertaining to us who experience the same and sometimes take for granted what we have accomplished sailing our compact vessels in all kinds of weather. I recognized the frustration of deciding what side the sail wants to be on, making the adjustment, only to be fooled by the wind again.

Just past the entrance to the Bassin on the Atlantic coast the dunes grow larger and about 5km south of the town of Arcachon is La Dune du Pilat; at 100m high and about 2km long it is estimated to be the largest sand dune in Europe with magnificent views over the Bay of Biscay and the endless pine forests of Les Landes. Well worth a visit - but by road as the Biscayan seas may be a little too risky!

I was actually Camping there at this time at a place called Lanton,East side of the Bassin It’s a beautiful area, as you say similar to places in the UK> I liked the areas of water cordoned off with plastic water foul to attract incoming geese etc to the lair of the. hunters. It’s also Boar country. I was mainly Kayaking then, and when the tide goes out, a long way, there are always beaches of mud left exposed.

I know it's a big ask, but one thing I would like to see is a few words of text on the screen when you pass a boat you can identify to let us know what it is. Your dinghy is one of the great designs of recent years (albeit based on traditional designs), but I'd still like to know what those others are.
