Nice video there. I originally thought when I saw the thumbnail that 3801 and R766 were running on dual gauge tracks, but I guess not since apparently R766 was converted to standard gauge. Pretty cool seeing a broad gauge engine on standard gauge tracks, especially since Australia is one of (if not the only) country that still uses broad gauge as a main railroad gauge.

Went there on the Saturday and had the time of my life although it was bleeding hot. Me and my family were mostly inside and actually saw a line side fire either 3526 or 3001 started. near the Thirlmere station

Glad to be a help, thanks for the shout out. Out of curiosity, how bad is the mechanical fault for R766? Is that bad that the locomotive was out of commission for the majority of the day.

From what I'd heard it was involved with a piston ring in the locomotive. Best to get the info from The Picnic Train who operate R766.

The bloke who was operating it didn’t own it and so technically couldn’t give out rides to the public, but I helped and volunteered to help top up his coal bunker by assisting in loading it, Gundagai Coal is incredibly dirty
