Train 1;
A Soo geep gets a new crew and one of Soo's rare SD60Ms sits on a spur as a long Canadian Pacific transfer freight to Clearing Yard departs the east end of Bensenville Yard. You'd never know it was a CP train with this power; Soo Line GP38-2 #4451, Soo/Milwaukee Road GP40 "bandit" #2041, and run-through Norfolk Southern units heading back to home rails- C40-9 #8791 and C40-9W #9563. The PSMX boxcar in this train is odd- I've never seen a boxcar designed this way before.
Train 2:
Later at the B-12 interlocking, an outbound Metra Milwaukee District West Line train speeds around the curve across CN's former Wisconsin Central. F40PH #118, the "McHenry County", leads 7 cars toward the Franklin Park station.
Train 3:
An inbound Metra MILW-W Line train of another 7 bilevels inbound.
MP36PH-3S ("Bulldozer") #427 pushes.
Train 4:
The inbound Metra meets a Union Pacific transfer freight with CP power in tow, heading for Bensenville Yard. UP C41-8Ws #9454 and 9445, and CP AC4400 #9583 are on the point of the lengthy train.
Train 5:
Metra F40PH #215, an ex-Amtrak unit, leads the short "Franklin Park Local" on the left-hand main. This train makes all stops from Chicago Union Station to Franklin Park, then turns to run as a deadhead back to CUS. The conductor on this train sure is in a good mood today!
Train 6:
A Canadian Pacific mixed freight approaches from the east on the CP / Metra main. ES44DC #8947, IC&E SD40-2 #6217, the 'City of Lyle', and CEFX
SD40-2 #3074 lead the long train toward Bensenville Yard. A few long flatcars in the consist look as though they might have hauled wind turbine shafts or aircraft fuselages.
Train 7:
The evening rush on the MD-W Line has started, as F40PH #104, the 'City of Chicago', hauls 7 coaches outbound to a stop at the Franklin Park station.
~Thanks for watching!~
