After catching a westbound CN intermodal in Mallorytown, I headed back to Brockville. I first headed to this crossing to see if there was anything coming. After waiting for just 10 minutes, a westbound CN manifest showed up with an ET44AC leading and a C44-9W trailing.
This crossing is pretty nice. It’s another old TPC install, likely from the late 1950s. The crossing would’ve originally featured TPC 8” lights, and a Griswold mechanical bell. No major changes occurred to this crossing until sometime in the late 2000s, when the crossing was modernized. The 8” lights were replaced with the current Safetran 12x20” Dialight Ball LED lights, and the original bell was replaced with the current GS Type 2 E-Bell. Thankfully, the original TPC gate mechs still soldier on, like many on the Kingston Sub.
