Nice finds. A lot of good information in those old timetables. Really nice gift also. The numbers on the nail heads are the year. They are driven into wooden objects along the railroad to let people know what year something was done to whatever wooden object they are nailed into, such as when the tie was laid, etc.

Those nails are Tie Date Nails. They showed what year the tie was put in service. I have a couple from 1906 that were on the old CB&Q here in Northern Wyoming. Cool stuff you got!!! Take care!!!

Really great memorabilia right there. Definitely Really cool Bill thought of you for the special things, those are Date nails, hard to come by these days. I've walked many a mile of track and i have only ever got one when I was a teenager. He found a lot.. thats awesome.

Cool, Jerry! Heath would probably enjoy seeing the timetables for his op sessions. Could the numbers signify the year?
