Railway Crossing Mega Compilation 2!
Again it’s a big compilation of just some random crossings I’m unable to put into a separate video. 18 crossings this time, hope you enjoy!
Crossings thoughts and ratings:
Prospect Hill Rd, Camberwell. Alamein line 6/10
Decent crossing nothing special. I like the location, quite peaceful and good to just sit for a while and watch some trains.
Dimboola Rainbow Rd, Dimboola. Western line 5/10
Very standard nothing special. INteresting how you can see the Yaapeet line next to it.
Fawkner Cemetary Entrance, Hadfield. Upfield line 7/10
Really interesting location. Cool how one side has a pair of LEDs and the rest of the crossing has incandescents. GS type 3s though and I don't really like them
Donnybrook Rd, Donnybrook. Seymour line 5/10
This looks like a completely normal older Vline crossing however it still has it's hybrids. The hybrids don't sound very good though so they don't add much
Werribee St, Werribee. Western line 6/10
I like this crossing in it's current state as it has the rail bridges above it almost complete, while the crossing sits in the shadows underneath, with currently only a standard gauge track. I only filmed the crossing as it's going to be removed soon.
Victoria Rd, Northcote. Hurstbridge line 6/10
Absolutely nothing special about this crossing. It is one of the few upgraded on the Hurstbridge line. Still has old crossarms and bases
Selby Aura Rd, Selby. Puffing Billy 9/10
I love this crossing. The location is wonderful, very pretty. Vintage gatesless setup with a flat but cool McK&H teardrop, and old crossarms and bases. It used to have incandescents recently, although it would've been better with them still, it doesn't take away too much from the crossing.
Bungaree Wallace Rd, Bungaree. Ballarat line, Bungaree loop 4/10
Absolutely nothing special at all other than the facts that the lights flash slightly faster than normal. Just wanted to film one crossing on the loop before it was closed, which it currently has been.
Keon Parade, Reservoir. Mernda line 6/10
Very big railway crossing. It still has incandescent lights, and a few LEDs. It is the only crossing on metro with more than 2 bells, although only one of the 4 work. It is also the only crossing remaining with 2 cantilevers over the same direction of traffic.
Long Pockitt Lane, Selby. Puffing Billy 6/10
It is in a interesting location, scenic and a weird road layout. It has standard equipment except for the bells, one of which is the flattest in VIC. However this crossing doesn't stand out to me for some reason, not sure why.
Main Hurstbridge Rd, Diamond Creek. Hurstbridge line 7/10
Very busy crossing with an all Westinghouse setup including the pedestrian gates. Nothing much to say really.
Devon Rd, Pascoe Vale. Cragieburn line 7/10
Standardish setup with WCH gates, the gates are also upside down. It however still has it's older gateless signals excluding the bells. It's an alright crossing.
Giffard St, Williamstown. Williamstown line 8/10
I really like this crossing. It's similar to Devon Rd in the fact that it has newer gates and older gateless signals. I really like the location of this crossing, quiet and a nice area near the water. I also like how it has Barker technic bells.
Railway Parade, Eltham. Hurstbridge line 8/10
I really like how this crossing is on a obscure residential road. It also has nice equipment, all Westinghouse except for the gateless signal which still has a McK&H crossarm. This crossing is also missing it's large Railway Crossing signs.
Riversdale Rd, Camberwell. Alamein line 6/10
This crossing is similar to Prospect Hill Rd equipment wise except for the bells. This crossing is one of 3 tramsquares remaining in Melbourne. You can barely hear the bells at all, the alarms might as well be placed on the top of the signals lol.
Allendale Rd, Dimaond Creek. Hurstbridge line 7/10
The only thing that this crossing has going for it is it's obscurity and it's alright location. This crossing recently got completely upgraded. Nothing special at all about it.
Escrites Rd, Heathcote Junction. Seymour line 5/10
Exactly the same setup as Donnybrook Rd however the bells are not flat. Not a very interesting location.
Gap Rd, Sunbury. Sunbury line 6/10
It's a standard setup crossing except for the older SORS signs. Intersting how it's a quad gate setup. This crossing is also on the LXRA list for removal. The lights on the eastern gated signal are cracked and the LEDs are exposed.
Thanks for watching
