Welcome to Sundhult! In this video, we share an exciting activity from our Solskensdag where we, together with the Solskensfarmarna, showcased our operations and how we manage our animals and land in a slightly different way.
One of the most interesting experiments we conducted was to test how different types of soil react when it rains. We prepared bottles with different soil types to simulate the effects of rain on bare soil, soil covered with dead material, and soil with a grass tuft.
By pouring the same amount of water on these soil samples, we demonstrate how much water stays in the soil and how much runs off. The results clearly show how covered soil and roots help retain water and nutrients, which is important for keeping the land healthy and productive.
Join us as we show step-by-step how the experiment was conducted and discuss the results. We hope this inspires you to perform your own tests and explore how you can improve water retention and nutrient balance on your own land.
