My mother used to sing this to me every night when I was little. I've always loved singing it through out my whole life, but I'd never sing for anyone but myself. When watching The Muppet Movie for the first time last year, I started crying when I heard the first few notes on Kermit's banjo and I sang with him next to my mom letting her hear me sing for the first time in 20 years of being her child.

Seriously!! I have spent over an hour and a half going through "official" karaoke videos for this song "in the style of Kermit the frog/The Muppet Movie/Jim Henson ect" and every single one of them have had *really weird* backing tracks. There was no piano in the swamp. There was no electric keyboard. No bowed instruments... WTF? May I make a *tiny* request? (well two actually) - 1. (This is actually the lesser of the two) slightly larger font for cell phones or standing further from the screen? 2. Is there anyway you could highlight/underline or add a symbol above the portion to be sung? It's fairly easy to keep tempo but at least with the very beginning of the song, it's easy to miss your cue because the instrumental intro doesn't change before he starts to sing, and certain lines are tricky be •sure• you are keeping up/not running ahead. I completely understand if you don't want to lose your number of views / likes - so maybe you could make a duplicate with the minor changes? (I know lots of content creators have done this when they've had to make an edit/disclaimer/re-upload).
@GilDavis
4 жыл бұрын
@@searchingfororion I would be able to make the fonts larger, but don't have software to do the highlights. The ones I tried up until about a year ago were really not very good and the good ones cost to much for this poor old guy to afford since I can't monitize these songs. My other hobby is amateur radio and it gets expensive at times. I will continue to look for a decent program that can help and if anyone has any suggestions, please leave a message or email me at gildascharged@gmail.com. it's not associated with this account so I'm more likely to see a reply. Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide. So we've been told and some choose to believe it. I know they're wrong wait and see. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me. Who said that wishes would be heard and answered when wished on the morningstar? Someone thought of that and someone believed it. Look what it's done so far. What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing and what do we think we might see? Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me. All of us under its spell. We know that it's probably magic. Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices? I've heard them calling my name. Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors. The voice might be one and the same. I've heard it too many times to ignore it. It's something that I'm supposed to be. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers and me. La-da-da, de-da-da-do La-da-da-da-da-de-da-do

Why are there so many Songs about treasures And what's inside the vault. My friend picked the lock I set off the trap Oops. It wasn't my fault. I find treasure and then try to claim it But it's not that easy you see. Someday we'll find it The treasure connection The clerics, the fighters and me. We travel to the cities Sometimes the deserts Sometimes across the seas Exploring old caverns Or famous dungeons It's all for prosperity We met a dragon and then defeated it But the loot wasn't anywhere to see. Someday we'll find it the treasure connection The clerics, the fighters and me Don't forget rogues and wizards and barbarians too... So we keep on fighting Traveling and searching for that illusive loot The chests that have gold coins and maybe some scrolls or perhaps a brand new lute. It vanished in a puff of spectral magic. It was an illusion you see Some day we'll find it The treasure connection The clerics the fighters and meeee. Cotman fourchords halfling bard.

I actually find watching Jim Henson's memorial service very grounding and healing and beautiful. It makes me think of exactly what I would want. he requested that those attending not wear black or try to avoid it, for it to be a celebration (and it really was - the amount of laughter and applause was abundant and certainly much more audible than sobbing). also you get to truly celebrate the life of the man and you learn *truly how much impact he had* - far beyond what any of us who grew up just watching what he was making for us - could have ever imagined. It's inspiring and beautiful. I also recommend the Muppet tribute to Jim Henson.
