Growing up in the US in the 1980's, I remember that parents did not wait for the child to be 'ready' for potting training. At that time, when a child could go get and bring an adult a diaper and lie down to be changed, the child was trained. By 18 months, most children would be trained. I don't understand children at 2, 3 and 4 years old still in diapers or a pull-up. I lived in Shanghai for 4 years and was able to witness the potty-training methods. I agree that it is a more efficient way to do it. More American parents are choosing to potty train in infancy without kai dung ku. They have to remove the bottoms for them, but it still works.

We started potty training our children as babies. We learned the signals they would make when they had to go, and we were proactive - We'd take them to the toilet. My daughter was potty trained before two (18 months?). I think my son was a bit slower. It is not normal in Canada though.

I’m so interested in how they do it in urban cities in China. I read diapers are now a big thing but I really want to potty train my baby in the usa early. Did you end up successfully training your babies before 2?

i found the chinese way quite shocking at first, but after understanding it, i see that it really makes quick work of potty training.
