Thank you for watching this video!
Since this video we have now moved from FL to Maine. Here in Maine since we have a shorter warm season we have went back to the quicker growing Cornish cross birds for our customers and to stock our own freezer. We sold our flock of Plymouth rocks but before that we were able to process two roosters. The meat was great, but the breasts were definitely smaller than a Cornish cross so be aware of that going into it. I wish we would've had time to try feeding them higher protein feed and compare the results but with our new state and not wanting to keep birds through the winter we decided we'd just stick with Cornish cross which we already know will grow quickly and be the size that customers expect.
