@@TheRookie738 Yeah he's different for sure. A lot of young rappers have nice flows but none of them have Rakim vocabulary, metaphors, good subject matter and great lyrical content. One guy was saying all he do is rap about rapping and I sent him like 20 songs with Rakim telling stories or addressing certain topics that wasn't about "just rapping" and I told him, that's how Hip Hop got started so that's always gon be basis for authentic Hip Hop. I also added that these mumble rappers don't know how to talk about how good they is on the mic bcuz they don't possess that set of skillz.

The reason RAKIM never dropped the album with Dr. DRE was so much more than RAKIM simply not liking west coast sounding beats. RAKIM was cool with some of the west coast sounding beats.Yes RAKIM did have a problem with the AFTERMATH RECORD LABEL execs not allowing RAKIM to use some of DJ PREMIER beats. That did not sit well with RAKIM. But the real reason why RAKIM never released the album under Dr. DRE was because DRE wanted RAKIM to do an entire album of RAKIM spitting lyrics that glorify the gangster criminal lifestyle. Even though RAKIM is a street type of dude, he never wanted to glorify being a gangster. RAKIM has always been more of a NO-NONSENSE RIGHTEOUS STREET RAPPER who made it cool to be intelligent, righteous, smooth, and tough at the same time. RAKIM always made it cool to be a deep, book smart, spiritually aware, and street smart at the same time. Even when RAKIM rapped from the perspective of a street thug like he did on the song "KNOW THE LEDGE", he still pointed out the consequences of living a criminal lifestyle. But Dr. Dre wanted RAKIM to be a gangster rapper, and that was never what RAKIM was about. RAKIM has always been more of a lyrical rapper who added conscious knowledge to his street raps without much profanity. That was the REAL RAKIM. People can say what they want about ERIC B, but when ERIC B AND RAKIM was together in the late 80s and early 90s, ERIC B allowed RAKIM to be himself when he rapped. He did not try to force RAKIM to become a straight up GANGSTER RAPPER the way Dr. DRE did. The only thing DRE should have done was make the beats, and allow RAKIM to be the RAKIM that his fan have grown to love from day one.

@@F-ya-MothaShow2 In short version, DR. DRE wanted RAKIM to become a straight up GANGSTER RAPPER. But RAKIM always preferred to be more of a LYRICAL CONSCIOUS STREET POET type of rapper. That was the source of the creative difference preventing the album from being released.

@@F-ya-MothaShow2 I know that your video was primarily about RAKIM dropping a new album this year, but you also touched on the fact that RAKIM and DR. DRE was supposed to Collab in the early 2000s for a RAKIM album that was never released. And you had speculated on the possible reasons that album never came out. That's why I mentioned the real reason that RAKIM himself explained during one of his interviews as to why that DR. DRE produced album was never released. RAKIM himself explained that it was due to creative differences stemming from DR. DRE wanting RAKIM to go more in a GANGSTER RAP direction on the album, but RAKIM wanted to go more in a CONSCIOUS RAP direction that fits his natural beliefs and values.
