What a moment for Peugeot and for Marcus Grönholm to be on the top step of the podium and paying tribute to the late Michael Park, Markko Märtin's former co-driver.

Even today that still hurts with Petter and Phil. But so nice to see Peugeot win that Rally, they really needed that after Wales

I could not believe what I saw when I was checking the results from the last day (day 3). Here in Norway it was night when they where driving in japan.so I checked the next day and was shocked by what had happened. it was not fair for petter .fucking rock.

Even many people says that this rally results wasn't lucky for Petter... I would say that win was given for right person and right team, after what happened in Wales. For a Marcus. For a Peugeot. For a Beef. For once, "sporting gods" make a right decision.

In 1999 and 2000, there were 7 manufacturers competing and 6 from 2001-2003. To think it would be 8 in 2000 if Toyota kept going...

In a way, Petter's misfortune was almost cosmic. GB was a horrible day. It was the universe's way of nullifying the GB result.
@dantheracer99

That's actually a really good point. Solberg won Rally Wales GB due to Peugeot taking Gronholm out of the results. A rally Marcus would have likely won. It seems somewhat fitting that while on his way to victory Solberg retires and Gronholm inherits the win in Japan.

Marcus was nowhere near winning in Britain Sebastian deliberately picked up time penalties so as not to win the championship under the circumstances of Michael park's death which was a nice touch. I do agree though that Marcus winning in Japan was a lovely tribute for Peugeot to Michael and nice karma for solberg.
