Hey ! Just wanted to say I've been following you for a long time and think your material is super. Emerson's prose is peerless - many Americans turn away at the sight of 19th century writing but it is just so elevated and poetic ... poetic prose? Thank you for your analysis!

Thank you mr Adam for your wonderful cultural literary channel. I gathered main information about famous poet and his notable work you mentioned briefly here it’s Ralph Waldo Emerson ( 1803- 1882 ) he was an American essayist, lecturer, philosopher, abolitionist , poet who led transcentalist movement of the mid - 19 the century. He was seen as champion of individualism and critical thinking as well as prescient critic of countervailing pressures of society and conformity. Fred rich nietzsche thought he was “ most gifted of Americans “ , and Walt Whitman called Emerson his master . Emerson wrote poetic prose , ordering his essays by recurring themes and images his poetry, on the other hand is often called harsh and didactic . His well known essays self reliance, over soul , circles , the poet , and experience . Together with nature , these essays made decade from mid 1830s to mid 1840s Emerson most fertile period . Nature synopsis lays out and attempts to solve abstract problem : that human don’t fully accept nature beauty . He writes that people are distracted by demands of the world, whereas nature give but human fail to reciprocate . In essay explains that to experience wholeness with nature for which we are naturally suited . The main point Emerson uses spirituality, believed in reimagining divine as something large and visible, which he referred to as native . The main idea of nature we need to lose ourselves in nature , if we are to understand world and accomplish anything great . Tone is poetic and calm .

He must be listened to first, or read aloud. Check out Bob Neufeld's bravura reading of Emerson. It is - pardon the pun - TRANSCENDENT.

Could not have picked a better person to begin close reading prose. Emerson's literary style quite literally changed my life; my entire perspective on existence was transformed, and I felt as though he spoke to me with practically every word he penned. He was a tremendous writer and the father of American literature.

I love Emerson’s “Nature.” You can see something of all of Emerson’s later works there in fragments. “Nature” + an early lecture “The Method of Nature” *are* the young Emerson. It is foolish to call his revelation either philosophical or psychological or spiritual or really to use any conventional name for it. Like all true and profound revelations, it is new. It might be called _Emersonian;_ it might be called _American._ To give it any other label would be to say too little, would be to say too much. That first paragraph and the whole invocation which is the preface are extraordinary. They are calls to fresh life, to the reality and vitality of the present.
