I definitely like the look of the black one without the "Power Wagon" stickers plastered all over it.

I wish they had a cable throttle, not the electric. I feel like the electric takes more to get a steady, smooth, consistent input.

+XJMikey124 Fly by wire is the best. My 02 firebird was like that and it was so easy to shift cause you could put the RPM right where you want it every time. R.I.P

I own a 05' 2500 w/5.9L. The 48re trans is starting to show its age and I am going back and forth on new truck or new built trans. Why is the Power Wagon only available with a gas engine?

The truck is far from a 2500. Less payload due to coil springs. Front end is at 4750. Which is 750 lower than a regular 2500 6.4. Cummins is at 5750.

RAM didn't put the Cummins in their (according to RAM) because is way too heavy for the off-road suspension. However, they could of just put the EcoDiesel in there since it has plenty of torque and would have good fuel economy.

Yes way to heavy and you lose ride quality. Front end is rated at 4750. Normal 2500 are (5.7) 5250 and 6.4 (5500) and Cummins is 5750. They softened up the Power wagon for ride quality. It's more of a toy than a work truck. But is very capable of being a work truck just not heavy duty stuff like plow and towing real heavy. The payload is like 1750 in bed compared to 3000 in regular 2500 with leaf springs.

Yes, the XJs are amazing. But they can't also tow 10k pounds and other 3/4 ton truck skills. Also, they're not made anymore :/

speak for yourself, I have owned many and never had any issues with any of them! when you say they break all the time, must be people who abuse them and dont take care of them.

Scott Stegenga Could be...but they also lose value faster than any truck in the market...
@Stegs

That only matters if you buy a truck, drive it for a few years and sell it. People like me, buy and keep forever, so "resell" value means nothing. To each their own of course...but to say they break all the time is wrong. Do they break? yes of course. Do fords break? yes. What about GM? they do too....I know of newer fords and chevys that had way more issues than my truck ever has....in the end its all about how you take care of them....This is my opinion

Scott Stegenga True, i can respect that, i have an uncle that loves Ram, he him self has had them all over the years currently drives a 2008 hemi 1500 love it, i my self am an import guy. I am looking to getting rid of my old ranger and getting a 6 speed manual 4x4 frontier what do you think.

I think you can do whatever you want. The only reason i commented on your first post is you said that Dodges break fast....which i dont agree with, but everyone has a opinion. if your a import guy, and looking for a truck, I have heard good things about the Toyota tacoma. I am a mopar guy, but those tacomas look like nice little trucks....if i was a import guy, id take a serious look at those. But like i said, buy what you like, buy what makes you happy!

Taking the "DODGE" name off of their OWN trucks was REALLY STUPID !!! Dodge fans no longer have bragging rights anymore...'cause the trucks are NO LONGER DODGES !!! And WHY did FIAT do it? So they could sneak some of their OWN Italian trucks over here ...and market them under the "RAM" name !! Didn't they think that they'd SELL under their OWN ??

Its also a premium engine that costs 5 grand more than the 6.4 and oil changes are 300 dollars, plus DEF and the fact you can't idle diesels, plus this truck is a little too heavy for the Ecodiesel, both engines have the same torque, but the 6.4 has 200 more horsepower. Even at over twice the fuel cost per month, it would take 8 years for the ecodiesel to pay for itself over this engine, towing would be down to 7000 on this vehicle with the ecodiesel as well.
