Today I want to take you to Hampi, which is the Kishkinda of Ramayana. There is a whole section in Ramayana dedicated to the events that happened here. The Kishkinda khanda of Ramayana contains a vivid description of this ancient forest kingdom. Hanuman was born here, in the Anjandadi hills of Hampi. The Rishyamukha hill is where Rama met Hanuman for the first time. There are several exquisite rama temples here. There is Kodandarama temple, which is the place where Rama killed Vali and crowned Sugreeva the kind of Kishkinda. IT is also known as Chakrathirtha rama temple because the river tunga, as it flows in front of this temple forms whirpools and swirls like the sudarshanachakra. Then there is Malayavanta Raghunatha temple, a cave temple where Rama and Lakshmana sheltered during the monsoon. Here you will find Rama and Lakshmana in seated position. Sita is seen in her Mahalakshmi form with four arms. In the kishkinda khanda of Ramayana, sita is in Lanka, so she is not with Rama. Perhaps that is why they have depicted her in her Mahalakshmi form, to show that sita is always with rama in spirit, even if she is not there physically by his side. . Among all these exquisite monuments, there is one temple which stood out for me in its beauty and magneticity. The Hazara Rama temple was the royal temple of Hampi, worshipped by the kings of the vijayanagra empire.
