Excellent video. At 10:36 you said ''So we need to come into alignment with that [undifferentiated consciousness/ Atman] to free ourselves from the prison of the identity - the ego - the sense of self. And it is a prison.'' But I believe it's perfectly ok to be living our physical lives with the perspective that we are this limited identity or persona. I get that on a deeper level, the physical world is maybe an illusion, and the one Atman consciousness is who we really are. But we chose to step out of that for a while and be incarnated into this dimension. We all chose to forget who we are so that we can fully engage in this physical experience. It's like a fabulous computer generated game. It's not some hideous malfunction of the Universe that we are here. It's a precious opportunity to be on this magnificent planet, at this marvellous time. As we live our lives, experience pain, and develop deeper love and compassion, etc, the Universal Oneness GROWS. It's all good. If some people experience Cosmic Consciousness whilst still in their physical body, well good for them. But surely there is no urgent ''need to free ourselves from the prison of identity''. We come from God/ Oneness whatever, and after our stay on this planet we will return. In the meantime lets just enjoy the opportunity here, and make the most of it. Enjoy some chocolate, and watch a movie. Value this life.

30 years ago, at age 40, I was quite unexpectedly gifted with a glimpse of being. The world and my person were dissolved in a "white" light of all colors going all directions at once. I was in that light. I was that light. My person and the world had been mere projections like a dream or a movie. No real reality to them. Then my person came back and suddenly I was back in the world ( waiting for a table in a restaurant!). My " spiritual seeking" became a pleasant pastime after that, no longer a grasping, neurotic mess. I will say that the one constant of my previous years of seeking had been an ardent desire to know the truth just once.

Yes, one time. I was around 10 on a sunny, summer day. I laid on the lawn next to my house, on my back, on a sunny afternoon, a few clouds but mostly blue sky. A huge oak tree stood on the right side of my field of vision and the side of my house stood on the left side. Without warning, I instantly realized as I stared into the sky that all is one, there is no future or past, there is no forward or backward, there is only being and we live in a unified state of existence with all - everything. I would say that is the only true spiritual realization I have had in my entire life. It wasn't just a feeling; it was either a realization or revelation.

Yes, I think experiencing that nothingness must be innate as I too have had the experience. There is nothing exceptional about me. Growing up I think it was hinting as an experience in my sense of groundedness. The stillness of that sense of groundedness resembles an awareness of something like an “essence” that has no form but has a very strong presence. I think searching for this “reality” is ego driven. I don’t think this is how you get to the experience. You just need to be calm and then you find that it is there. It isn’t somewhere else. Being “calm” does not mean that you are free of thoughts. While within that experience, my mind is fully active, analysing the experience and regular human thoughts. There is an awareness that there is no need or desire to return to your normal life because this state is what it is all about. That state has no qualities except that you know it is limitless. There is no sense that there is a God or it is a heaven type place. It is just a void that you can definitely experience that is completely fulfilling. There is no desire for anything else. In comparison, human life experiences are very structured, cluttered and chaotic. Coming out of that experience just happens naturally also. I don’t know how you get yourself there or how you come out of that experience. It just happens. I’m sure it is there for everyone to experience. My link to that experience may be through Vipassana meditation. In Vipassana, you learn to be hyper-aware of the physical sensations in your body, and when in that state of “groundedness” in your daily life, you are also conscious of sometimes being hyper-aware. Maybe there is a link to Vipassana? I truly don’t know how it happens.

Few practices I do everyday 1. Meditate 30 minutes or do breathing exercise when I wake up and before I go to sleep (to concentrate on the concepts of”I am consciousness only, not this ego self” ) 2. Inquiring myself “who am I “ when I have negative thoughts or emotions 24/7 (it helps me to calm down ) 3. Acceptance of everything (let go of expectations of how things should be) Spiritual awakening is a long journey but I know it’s a necessary process. I hope it helps 🙏🏻

Consciousness is not a concept, thought it. The ego is. Consciousness is truth. You don’t have to add anything, but take the illusion away. You also can’t perceive consciousness, then it’s thought coming through the back door. It just is, no thought or judgment need. It’s pure stillness. Then, you will be left with pure awareness. It’s tricky, but it’s right here, right now, always. So simple, too simple it’s tricky! 😊❤

This is a very helpful explanation, I wonder why it took me so long to understand . I came to your video after watching Eckart Tolle say that the personality acts as a barrier a closed door to the self. It has helped me to realise that all of my spiritual striving and self improvement was only necessary to actually break down my personality! It’s ironic really and rather beautiful, I didn’t need to become better to reach God but all of my suffering did help to melt and wash away false self. Not that I’m egoless yet but I do feel incredibly lighter and can look on my life with a sense of humour , I don’t take myself so seriously now.

Please read this ... Okay so when we are stating teachings of saints (or scriptures), the correct way is to quote it, and then explain it, especially for deeper topics. This way there is a line between what has been said and how we are interpreting it. We should avoid mixing our own words into saints teachings. Absolutely disagree where he is implying that we can simply talk or understand ourselves into enlightenment. This would be just be a belief (although with confidence), not an experiential reality for 99.99% of the people. It requires rigorous sadhana to purify and calm ourselves to the point of actually experiencing “Aham Brahmasmi” - Sanskrit phrase that means “I am Brahman”. Here are the qualities of an enlightened person according to the Bhagwad Geeta: 1) 2.55: The Supreme Lord said: O Parth, when one discards all selfish desires and cravings of the senses that torment the mind, and becomes satisfied in the realization of the self, such a person is said to be transcendentally situated. 2) 2.56: One whose mind remains undisturbed amidst misery, who does not crave for pleasure, and who is free from attachment, fear, and anger, is called a sage of steady wisdom. 3) 2.57: One who remains unattached under all conditions, and is neither delighted by good fortune nor dejected by tribulation, he is a sage with perfect knowledge. 4) 2.58: One who is able to withdraw the senses from their objects, just as a tortoise withdraws its limbs into its shell, is established in divine wisdom. (Such a person can "medically" die and come back alive at will, absolute mastery over mind-body. ) Englightened beings have all the above qualities. Therefore I think one can't simply talk themselves into enlightenement. Read this to understand Ramana Maharshi's pov: www.quora.com/Why-did-Ramana-Maharshi-say-that-no-sadhana-is-needed-for-liberation/answer/Siddharth-T-Janakiraman Thanks😁

Seems like your statement is contradictory philosophy has some holes you know people watch this video because they have suffered in this world and there can never be a one final solution for all of this video is great though its a message that we are here not by our will and all world is an illusion. World is a manifestation of brahman in the mirror of the mind.And while brahman is non-dual world displays multiplicity but sticking with duality doesn't allow us to be aware of self that is nitya . So the world as it is we cant live in this world without duality when with the world while within the world we have a self thus and for that awareness comes when we are with ourselves.

Thank you. This was so wonderful to listen to. I’m smiling with the familiarity of every word you shared. I am presently reading A Course In Miracles, I come from a Hindu background and I would say am lightly familiar with that aspect of spirituality as I grew up. Feel like I’ve been on a life long journey to unmask the Truth of all of it. I believe you are so right when you said not everyone is ready to hear this. I picked up ACIM when I was 15 in a bookshop, intensely attracted to it. I must have stood there for half an hour just holding it in my hand and barely looking through it, just knowing that I wasn’t ready to understand what was in its pages- not yet. It took me until my late 30s, a lot of “seeking”, a lot of broadening my horizons, a lot of steps back and forth, and personal experiences to finally, truly grasp it. And just as I’m ready, I’m getting an influx of the same or similar messages as ACIM, just as I have found here. In fact, I probably wouldn’t have “quite” understood what you are explaining here had I not started reading the Course. The parallels are striking, the words and language used slightly different of course- but the message almost if not totally parallel. I find it comforting. This understanding that all of this that we perceive, is illusion. A dream. You don’t leave your bed when you dream, but you do buy into this world you’ve created with your mind and the “other” characters in that dream world. All of them non-existent… only projections of aspects of yourself, presented as different characters. And all the while, you’ve never left your bed. You’re safe. Youre Home. But if you don’t know you’re dreaming… you start identifying with the dream, identifying with the character you think you are in the dream, reacting and responding to the circumstances and “other” people in your dream as if it was all real- and that way you perpetuate it. You get lost in the identification of the false self in the dream and the other false selves that don’t actually exist. Even after “death”- you think that’s it, I’m home. But the very fact that you still identify as an “I” means you’re still in the dream. You’re just not “as” “physically” focussed. And I think what is happening now- with people now seeking the Truth through teachers such as Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi and books such as ACIM… it’s like you are starting to have a lucid dream. You’re in the dream, but you’re realising what’s going on. That none of it is what you thought it was. You’re waking up. You’ve got nothing to achieve, nothing to strive for, nothing to do to prove your worth. Your worth is already assured. And all the selves you are seeing out there, seemingly separate from you… they are just you, masquerading as projected aspects of yourself via these ego personas you perceive. There’s just you. Us is… one. There is no “true” us- “we” are one. There is not even an “I” in that Oneness- the moment an “I” is perceived, it is only the ego identifying itself as separate to something else; in other words, the “I” is a symptom of the split mind that “we” bought into when we chose to dream… and then forgot we were only dreaming. Only a split mind can perceive “this” and “that”, choice, focus, something that is “this” and something that is “other than this”. But the “whole” mind doesn’t perceive at all- it just IS. Or you could word it another way and say that “true” perception… is… no perception. Because if there is only Truth, and that is all that IS, then there is nothing else- so what is there to perceive between? You just… Are. There’s just Being. That is what we truly are. Pure Beingness. Isness. Am-ness. You never went anywhere. You never left Home or God or Brahman. You just believed in the dream that you did so- and “then” the mind split, from that mistaken belief. And that’s what we need to undo. That belief. But if you’re not ready, if you haven’t gently opened up to this kind of understanding over time and experience within, it can sound and be pretty scary, and uncomfortable because the ego can only perceive fearfully. So of course, whatever conclusion it comes to will be a fearful one. Because it means, if separation from God/Brahman never actually occurred… then the ego is not real. And the ego needs this construct that we have bought into, to exist. Without illusion, without the belief in dream, it dissolves. This was such an amazing video and I’m so thankful to you for sharing this. x Thank you from my heart x

@@Lu-ji Thank you Lu-ji :) Yes it really comforts me to find that everything I’ve been seeking “through” has led me to these teachings. And there are many Teachers who have come to the exact same conclusions all across the globe- some not even very well known but they teach the same message. But it’s like you can’t find them on purpose- it’s almost as if you come to that understanding within and then the universe starts sending them to you one by one. As if to re-affirm it to you. Thank you for saying “hey” :) it’s nice to see another ACIM “student” making the same connections as I am. Blessings, Shay 💙

I understand the concept that on a deeper level, the physical world is maybe an illusion, and the one Atman consciousness is who we really are. But we chose to step out of that state for a while to be incarnated into this dimension. We all chose to forget who we are so that we can fully engage in this physical experience. It's like a fabulous computer generated game. Our physical lives are not some sort of hideous mistake or malfunction of the Universe. Value this life.

You have expressed that very well, Bruce. We’re here for a reason, to “do” us, in a sense. But when we have awareness of Self, we can do us without all the suffering that comes from thinking we are the mind-body entity. Nothing practically, in this plane, changes but we can enjoy the experiences of this “incarnation” in the knowledge that we are truly Self.
@WeAreAllOneNature

@@sinkandrelax Isn't the growth and learning that occurs in each physical incarnation more deep, rich and natural if we DON'T have the knowledge that we are truly Self? Is it not harmful to force Self Realisation to blossom prematurely?

O P spot on ! This reality is an extension of source , there is no heirarchy in source so therefore all realities and experiences are also source and therefore equal and valid . Those who try to escape this reality by excessive disassociation including too much meditation are often unable to handle the pain of this reality because they have ironically forgotten their true nature . Gotta laugh it's a real moxy oron ;)
@WeAreAllOneNature

@@Star-uk1kh Thanks. I love your use of the word 'valid'. When you say ''true nature'', I assume you mean 'persona' (earthly identity). Maybe holding both concepts at the same time is best. If you watch a movie, it's useful to know that it's contrived (sort of not real). But there is benefit to forgetting it's all acting, and just losing yourself in the movie for 2 hours. I think it is best to appreciate the validity of both worlds, simply because they both ARE valid. If life here feels too traumatic, maybe one can choose to just slip more into the spiritual 'Universal Oneness' mode. It's a bit of an escape from this physical journey. Like covering your eyes during a scary part of a movie. You can say to yourself: ''don't worry - it's not so real.'' Maybe the older a person becomes, the more appropriate and natural it is to live more in the wider perspective of One Universal Consciousness.
@albertcilliers6930

I think you raise an important question, Bruce, but I do think there is a benefit to be obtained by trying to live from the real Self. For example, later in this conversation you say: "Maybe holding both concepts at the same time is best. If you watch a movie, it's useful to know that it's contrived (sort of not real). But there is benefit to forgetting it's all acting, and just losing yourself in the movie for 2 hours." The thing with 'holding both concepts' is that these are both held in the mind. By attempting to live consciously in the moment, without thought, one can (as the 'witness') observe the tricks of the conditioned mind, see how it constantly attempts to pull us back into 'ego consciousness', then let those thoughts go. This is not to say, though, that we can't escape into a good movie for a couple of hours, or generally have fun. We also have to realise that few of us, in this lifetime, will realise our true Self. However, by living consciously in the present moment our ego self seems to get weaker and weaker, and we become calmer, more at peace, and more inclined to appreciate that we should simply let go and enjoy the ride. This is not to say we shouldn't pursue our dreams and goals, but in doing so we should release the outcome - if it happens, it happens, but if it doesn't, we shouldn't see it as the end of the world. If reincarnation is real, as described by sages such as Ramana Maharshi as well as ordinary people who have had an NDE, perhaps we are all at different levels of spiritual maturity. I'm sure we are all aware of non-spiritual people who are tremendously egoistic, selfish, inflexible in their outlook, and driven by greed and excessive consumption (to describe some of the ills of our time!). But there are other non-spiritual people who are kind, generous, loving souls who live what we might terms spiritual lives. NDErs tell us that one of the lessons they learnt on the 'other side' is that we all have a unique task to perform or lessons to learn during this lifetime. Which brings us back to your original question! Perhaps most of us will learn these lessons or achieve our goals by living from our 'ego-selves'. But perhaps the ultimate lesson we have to learn (maybe after many reincarnations), is that we are in fact spiritual beings having a physical existence, and that Self-realisation is the ultimate lesson we must learn! I am in the 'getting older' category you describe, and it is definitely true that spiritual issues and Self-realisation have become a lot more important to me. But I have a number of friends who still see spirituality as self-delusion, so again it's perhaps more where we are on our soul-journey, that determines how we see the world. And the very fact that you watch these types of videos, may suggest that you, too, fall into the spiritual seeker category! Thanks for a great, thought -provoking question!

Everything is falling away… duties, responsibilities, preferences, roles, even personality itself. I’m made of layers and at the core is who I truly am - existence in and of itself. The ego is still present but I am trying to walk beside it as opposed to morphing into it, and it doesn’t always work and that’s OK. But I see it, I witness it. Existence, being, breath, moment by moment, is all that is and ever was. Everything else is an illusion.

There is only 1 conciousness. This consciousness is everthing and every where, it is pure energy and pure light. This consciousness fragments into this different dimensions to experience itself within its own creation which is the illusion of physicality. Each fragment has its own personality, this personality develops an ego when entering 3rd dimensional reality. We are the Creator experiencing himself in this space time. As we grow in understanding of this truth so too do we ascend according to our understanding. The greater our understanding the more aware we are of the creator within and his promptings or intuition. Our souls during the course of many life times, grows to be more like the Creator himself and eventually return to where we came from, the 1 Great consciousness Mother/Father God or Source.

This is not helpful. The speaker himself is identifying with certain Buddhist and Hindu concepts. And automatically dissing Christian ideas and beliefs, creating further karma in Spades. Some cool things said, but too many abstractions.

Thank you for this video, Jason. This Jiva was feeling stuck between the appearance of a choice between moksha and remaining as the beautiful flower that it is. Truth has been my aim on my path all along over some idea of liberation and now I see that I can remain as I am because God is being us and doing us, as you said and I know in my heart of hearts. Cheers!

Wonderful Channel! As a Hindu and an Indian, it's great to hear someone talk about my faith and tradition without butchering or distorting it. Either they don't get it as it's too deep or their narrow western lens doesn't want to accept that this kind of spiritual philosophy could come from somewhere out side of the west and outside of abrahamic tradition. Keep up the good work in keeping the intercity of the content.

The bible also has this teaching, similar.So it is in the west but Abrahamic religion is not western it’s middle eastern.In fact we’re pagans or Druids ,I go to the big stones and feel the earths vibrations.The earth communicates to me via the subconscious.I also studied the Dao and these truths are universal.

But are you really "Hindu" or "Indian" in truth? or are you Brahman? Can we identify "who" it is that is butchering or distorting your faith and tradition? Can we identify "who" it is that is butchering or distorting the "narrow western lens"? What is meant by "intercity of the content"? Can we agree that we are One? Thanks.

How amazing and fortunate that I stumbled across this video. Its taken a long time, but I have more or less come to these same understandings about myself and the nature of the universe. That there is no creator-god that is supposed to have created life and everything from nothing, but rather it is a living, infinite universe that has never known a beginning and that life is an intrinsic part of this eternal universal fabric. I've come to realize that we need to learn how to look beyond the temporary illusion of who we are and instead search within and open our mind's eye to see and understand more importantly the never-ending nature of what we are.

Yes Jason, such a realization has occurred to me. I felt sadness for a awhile afterwards, because I felt so alone. It seemed that if I could pick any world to live, any prize to keep, any partner to be with, I would still be alone. Over time, I let this realization fade away enough to simply enjoy the remainder of this life as it is.

The Journey IS THE DESTINATION. We Came Here In this Warped Perception Of Who & What Is Within & Without Of Us. We Came for The EXPERIENCES. WHY WOULD ONE WANT TO GO BACK EARLY, TO WITHIN, REMEMBER WHY YOU CAME HERE. BE RESPECTFUL AS MUCH AS ONE CAN, DEPENDING UPON YOUR CULTURAL LIMITATIONS, OF UNDERSTANDING OF YOURSELF.! HOLD ONTO NOTHING, LET IT FLOW LIKE WATER. 💫
